Hey everyone, just got a 2013 Evo MR with 39k miles. Excited to be here and looking forward to meet folks..not sure if there is a bay area group that meets
Welcome, do all your maintenance items ASAP unless you know they were done right especially your transmission fluid and filter. Then start saving for when the SST goes out. Most common issue is the shift fork.
First mods should be Ohlins if you can get them. Will feel like a Go kart and be somewhat comfortable.
Other that that, enjoy the MR, I love mine and intend to keep it forever!
I was lucky enough to buy my MR with the SST rebuilt from Kozmic, Never had an issue. I agree though Get to know someone who works with the SST Specifically no just a normal transmission shop. And start a "bad day fund for when you need to get it addressed ~70-80K miles or so seem to be most common.
Thanks, yes did some research on SST and its issues before purchase, luckily it had Kozmic trans rebuild 5k miles ago... getting the sst diaqueen fluid replaced, oil change, new pads and rotors soon
ugakirk - this was from a evo enthusiast in seattle
Was at the dealership today to reprogram my tuned ecu from english racing and was told their system could not since its not the original ecu, replacement costs 1500$ with labor..can a local tuner fix this?
