I've been working on the tuning of the Ralliart and EvoX TC-SST and found some logging information. A lot of my logging involves long drives to test the warm up cycles, cool down cycles, gear temperatures and if slip is occurring. I'm in the process of building some new EvoScan Gauge templates.

I don't know if this is going to help anyone else but me but here is some fun information that I gathered.

It drives me crazy when trying to read logs and I can't tell what gear the vehicle is in except for using RPM/MPH to figure out gear ratio's when the TC-SST should be able to tell me. So we spent a few hours over some good beers to bring you these results. Hopefully it will help you.

In EvoScan the following items can be setup for logging

CAN 29-0 (Selector position/directly correlates to display)
3 = Normal
2 = Sport
1 = S-Sport

CAN 30-0 (Manual Mode Selector/slap shifter)
1 = Manual
0 = Automatic

CAN 31-0 (Gear Position Sensor)
80 = Park
82 = Reverse
78 = Neutral
129 = Automatic 1st
130 = Automatic 2nd
131 = Automatic 3rd
132 = Automatic 4th
133 = Automatic 5th
134 = Automatic 6th
49 = Manual Mode 1st
50 = Manual Mode 2nd
51 = Manual Mode 3rd
52 = Manual Mode 4th
53 = Manual Mode 5th
54 = Manual Mode 6th


I'll keep sorting information but this should help for those who are tuning SST's in the future. It helps to know what gear/mode you were in during logging.


There are many more but they still need testing to figure out the values required.

I have been trying to get Gear in Use working in Evoscan 2.9.0092

Attached is my evoscan screen.

My car is a 2008 EVO X GSR with SST running on rom 53050109 Tephram rom that inherits 53030009

How do I set up EVO scan to log mode and gear?

The Gear in Use function that you are trying to use is based on RPM/MPH and there is a calculation to translate it.

0-41 - 6th
42-54 - 5th
55-70 - 4th
71-93 - 3rd
94-126 - 2nd
127 - 194 - 1st

It's very messy and doesn't really work the best. That's why I decided to log differently using the Can-C Bus that is included in the car.

If you want to use Gear In Use you will have to open a special window in Excel and set the different parameters for each block to make the formula do the calculation for you. It's a pain but I have it somewhere.

Or.

You can use the Can-C topology and just understand what each gear number is.

So glad I found this, knew it could be done but didn't know how. Now I can use this on my new digital dash.

Any Ideas on how to make a formula for Evoscan so tihiat it displays actual gear instead of the code
