Looking for information. I've had my Exedy stage 2 (non-hd) for a couple years now and ~9k miles.

The car suddenly started having resistance when shifting into gears. Bit of research and testing and am fairly certain it's a clutch drag issue.

The clutch is going to be replaced with a twin, but I'm trying to figure out if it's an install error or if the clutch itself might have failed. Sucks being out $2+k that was being saved to spend on other mods. Car has been to a few auto-x events and NEVER launched on this clutch. Besides that very civil driving, it should not have only lasted 9k miles.

Questions:
1) If you have the non-hd version, did your OEM CMC fail? (mine did about 1k miles ago, upgraded to the magnus evo IX CMC)

2) How high is your engagement point?

3) I noticed that after driving the car for a little while the clutch would engage much (3-4" lower in pedal stroke) lower then before. It would slip enough to crawl forward, but to fully engage still needed to be released to the usually engagement point. Anyone else experience this or something similar? It's done this the entire time i've had the clutch (i.e. before CMC upgrade).

4) When i'm slipping the clutch in reverse it makes a "squeeling" noise. Anyone else get any noise when slipping in reverse?

5) Any other anything you've noticed or thought about with this clutch? Maybe thought was slightly off?

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend going the HD version since i know the SD will blow your CMC anyway.

Just wish i would have gotten more then 9k miles out of a clutch.

Well, I emailed Exedy, waiting to see what they say.

Will also hopefully find out more when the shop pulls the clutch out. Just trying to look for what other possible causes this could be besides the clutch before I pay to have the clutch pulled and buy a new clutch to replace it with.

I'm trying to figure out if the Magnus Evo IX CMC installed improperly could cause this? although I don't see how.

Not sure what other possible causes there could be.
