Wondering if I can get some help on this one. New To This Forum and an amatuer when it comes to moding. I've had my Evo for about 6 months now and I've finally decided its time to go down the dark path!

After researching for a couple weeks I've narrowed down between two exhausts: Perrin and Buschur (quiet), mainly because of the sound levels and the discrete look, I would appreciate any feedback, Especially having to do with performance.

On Perrins website it states about 15 - 20hp gains (but dyno'd with a turboback) and on Buschur's website it states up to 28hp with just a catback. do those gains sound realistic and would I notice any real difference between the two? feedback from these exhaust owners would help me out a ton. also, anything I should know before purchasing?

Most 3" exhausts will perform about the same, buy whichever you think looks and sounds better. Keep in mind that Buschur's "Quiet" catback is actually still fairly loud, you may want to look at his Crossflow instead.

The Perrin system is great, go with the stealth black if it fits the look of your car.

Discreet if you are staying off the throttle, but it can get a pretty good growl going on with WOT.

There's not too many youtube clips of this system unfortunately.

Yea I couldnt Find too many videos on either the Perrin cbe or Buschur quiet, which is why personal experience would be great from either performance, complaints, etc. of these two

Also Does anyone recommend a good place to purchase?(aka most cost effective) either online, or in the bayarea?

Get the perrin, but the stealth one, it will look so much better and wont rust.

like i said before, in my opinion, the Perrin has the perfect sound on the EVO and if it wasnt so ugly, i would have kept mine for sure.

The Buschur crossflow sounds really great. If you're keeping your stock cat then the setup is going to be pretty quiet no matter what you go with.

it does hang a bit too low but for me the biggest issue are the tiny tips that are too small but also too short. because they are so short, you can see the actual pipes which gives the entire exhaust a toyish look. every time i look at my car from the back or from the sides and i see those pipes, i want to roundhouse kick the exhaust but every time i sit in the car and hear it, i want to kiss it. as you can see i have a very strong hate/love relationship with this one.

It could be better, but to answer your concern, the system doesn't sag all... stays nice and flush to the car. The tips could have been designed a bit better as Blonde said... but I still think they look good, especially in the stealth black.

I love how the Perrin pops and rumbles. It's quiet-ish when you stay out of the throttle, but deep. Definitely not a quiet exhaust, but not obnoxious either. You will be heard though.

Yes I'm definitely keeping stock CAT, Cali resident. Im leaning towards Perrin but Now Im starting to consider the Buschur crossflow. feedbacks telling me its more quiet than the Buschur "quiet" model and about $100 cheaper. looks like the muffler is further down the exhaust, I wonder if that makes a difference at all

Wow now Im really starting to consider the Buschur crossflow. Great look plus about $200 cheaper than perrin. Does anyone know where I can find some Videos of this Exhaust?, Especially at idle. All I can find is the same video everywhere. Also would Performance be about the same for both? Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.

Regardless of what anyone tries to tell you, there isn't a big difference in performance between aftermarket exhausts until you're making huge horsepower (like a 35r setup). A free-flowing, quiet exhaust might make 2whp less than an obnoxiously loud one on a typical car. The biggest gains are in the downpipe and cat so you're not going to see much anyway. The best reason to do a cat-back is for a little more sound...the stock setup is crazy quiet.

I've attended the local dyno days and it was always one of the best sounding exhausts there. Most videos are going to be with a test pipe, anyway. The odds of you finding a video with the stock cat isn't very good.

I also have an exhaust question. I already have a dual aftermarket exhaust but I am looking to getting a single tip exhaust. I was looking at the invidia n1. What else is a good option and how loud is the invidia

you can look into the Greddy TI-C which i also have. it is not too loud but it does have a bit of drone. i heard great things about the Invidia and of course, you can always go with the AMS single which tons of people love.
