While we're gearing up for the 2012 Detroit Auto Show next month, Ford is getting read to take on the Delhi Auto Expo with a gamut of production and concept vehicles. The company has released a teaser for what is likely the company's next EcoSport CUV to stir up interest.

The second-generation production vehicle is likely based on the same platform as the Ford Fiesta (the outgoing EcoSport is based on Ford's foreign market Fusion crossover) and will make its way around the globe in select markets as part of the automaker's "One Ford" strategy. That means European buyers will get a shot at taking home an EcoSport of their own, though we don't expect the model to show up on our shores anytime soon.

Ford will also show off the company's Figo, Fiesta, Ford Classic and Endeavour to the Indian market. The Delhi Auto Expo kicks off on January 7 and runs through January 11. Hit the jump for the full press release.Continue reading Ford teases next EcoSport ahead of New Delhi

Hi testdummy

Thanks for the update and I also want to share the detail of amazing mini SUV here

Ford Ecosport will come with a new 1.0 litre ecoboost petrol engine. This particular engine is a down-sized direct-injected, turbocharged petrol engine that provides the same output as churned by a 1.6-liter engine. The USP about this engine will be its small size which will make for excellent fuel economy. Now, one can expect that a mileage of not less than 20 kmpl will be delivered by this frugal 1-liter engine. This is a great number for a SUV in India. A 1.5 litre of DuraTorq diesel engine that made its presence felt in new Ford Fiesta saloon is also supposed to come aboard. This engine will keep the power to churn out 90 BHP and is intelligently mated with 5 speed manual gearbox. Ford might just make this car a little heavier and a bit less aerodynamic to boost up the power produced by the engine. However, don’t get too excited, as there won’t be a major hike in the power.

Apparently, this new car in India will land between the price range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh and is surely amongst the most awaited car to be launched in 2012.
