Hey guys, so I've had my car for a little over a year and put on 25,000 miles on it. I had a high pitch noise coming out of my car and found out that I had a leak in my front differential. The dealership said that because I didn't change out the transfer case oil after my 15,000 service, they can't fix this under warranty. Can they really screw me like this?

T-Case gear oil official service interval is 30k. 15k is just a "check" which means nothing. Show them page 00-58 in the 2010 service manual.

You have to demand service with dealers. They will say or do anything to get out of certain warranty services that don't pay well from Mitsu.

sounds like another failed transfer case. went through one at 7k miles i believe it was. covered under power train, 60k miles forgot the years, i think 5. and yes, 30k is normal interval. it says if driven hard change every 15k. fuck that guy

Is it tuned?

IIRC, the manual stated you should change out the drivetrain fluids every 30k miles with "normal" driving, 15k miles if you drive it aggressive or something along those lines. I doubt they can actually prove you drive the car aggressively, unless you have blackbos.

They can deny warranty if they know it is tuned. Try to reflash to a stock tune and then take it to another dealer, or work with your current dealer. If you have exhausted all your options and they will not budge, then pull the plug yourself and start to diagnose the source of the leak and if the T-Case has enough fluid in it. It takes a little less than a quart of gear oil.

Have you launched a lot?
