Fuel Pump Relay / Uk Market ?

Hi All
Just wondered if your having the same response from your dealer re the dreaded relay problems?

My local dealer, Fownhope Motors near Hereford, parts department are saying they have only replaced 1 ( yes 1 ! ) relay and looking at past records nearby dealers have only changed / ordered / sold the same!!!:duh:

Is this the usual speal dealers use to avert any stampede re claims on warranties or does the relay problem relate more to our American friends accross the pond?

Have you changed one / all the relays or not bothered? :coffee:
Also, as I think I will change my fuel relay just in case ( not picked the car up, this coming Saturday ... Very excited !:godance:) should I change the MFI relay at the same time?

Yeah, I've seen advise re the 5, I know where 2 of them go ( Fuel pump = X1 blue / Grey = MFI ) but where / what are the other 3 used for and require changing?

Mmmmm .... still doesn't explain where all the 4 blue go or am I being a bit dumb !!!
Fuel Pump Relay - Horn Relay - High Beam Relay .... + MFI .... where's the last one go?

If it IS just the horn / high beam relays I can live with them as is as I think the MFI & Fuel relays are the most important to change.

Ah! Ok, makes sense I suppose!

So am I correct, 3 blue / 1 grey for the : Fuel pump - Main Beam - Horn & MFI?

Not sure what colour relay my local dealer has ( blue / green ) as they appear to be very scarce in the UK + it is a special order so if I order them, i'm stuck with whatever one is delivered ! Guess either one will be better than the stock black one, eh?
yea stock black is what i had... order them from SSP if dealer cost too much

Just as an update to my thread :

I have contacted : Mitsy Uk, My local dealer, Ralliart etc etc and the overall reply has been " Does not effect Uk Cars" !

Hardly any of these have ever changed any relays and the one that had did so purelly as a precaution. Our cars come from Japan as fq300 and are then tuned etc to be the 330, 360, 400 & 420 version's and this includes an ecu tune.

General oppinion is that the US has far harsher emmision laws than here in the Uk and this may be the cause of the problem as our cars come in running rich from Japan.

I will still change the fuel / MFI relay for peace of mind and for £25 it's not going to break the bank.

Above is really aimed at any Uk guys getting into the Evo X who may have the same worries I had :duh:

this has affected jdm sourced cars as well.
