Going back to stock

I've been reading the thread "blown motors" and after hearing all of those horror stories I think I should go back to stock. I don't want to have to worry about paying $$$$ for something that wouldn't have happened if I was stock.

Ummm... congratulations?

(based on your signature, you pretty much are stock)
Yeah, I guess. I have 5,000 miles right now. Some people with the same mods say they blew their motor at 10,000 miles. That's crazy

17,000 miles, 27psi and more mods... still doing fine. Come on out to SW Michigan in a few months to see how healthy the car is on the track.

i think you'll be fine..theres people here with 30k plus miles and there cars are running exactly how they were since day 1.

Just don't drive it like you stole it everyday.
with those mods I'd still drive the shit out of it. If it blows then something else was wrong because those are pretty tame.

I don't think an intake and exhaust is what blown motors are made of. I think it's something called too much "boost" combined with "bad tuning" that causes failures.
Jesus I knew that thread was gonna worry people for no reason, your fine, my car was overboosting at 31+psi for a month and its still fine a year later...

Seriously people gotta stop freaking out about their car blowing up because 1% of the community have had failures
Yeah I probably am just being paranoid. Its hard not to be you know? I don't think I am over boosting, at WOT I've been up to 28 at the most, usually it's around 24. It's nice hearing about you guys with a lot of miles though.

You got to pay to play!!!
Dude, your being paranoid. Just watch your boost and air/fuel ratio and your good. Make sure you get tuned from a reputable shop.

My Evo is tuned for 27psi and occasionally hits 28psi, your very conservative at 24psi, you should be completely fine. Don't let pointless engine worries ruin the fun you can have in this car.

Its more likely that you'll get into an accident than have your engine blow.

No, its pretty easy to not be paranoid. Ignorance is bliss right?

But seriously, if it is tuned right, has quality parts, and is driven right, your car will last a long time.
your motor is going to die a very slow and horrible death....the evo x is extremely unreliable. You are doing the right thing selling it off while loosing money on it. Yes, you are 100% justified in being afraid.

note the sarcastic font.
I always thought italic was emphatic not sarcastic...
Haha, this car is a giant pile of shit. I need to sell it quick. I'm sick of it tickling me when I floor it.
