Welp, looks like there was some interest, but not enough for me to put these back into production. So sorry to say people, but at this point I won't be making the oil caps. So disregard the below info since the group buy is no longer active.

They’re Back… maybe.

This is a group buy for the below custom billet aluminum oil caps. The group buy will end on November 21st. Only 20 caps will be produced, unless the group buy goes over the 20 mark. I guarantee that I will not make these again. I was uncertain before, but am 100% positive this is the last you will see of these from me.

A minimum of 8 people must sign up & pre-pay for these oil caps to go into production. Production time will be 2-3 weeks after payments are received. Payment will be requested on the day following the group buy end date (November 22nd). I will update this thread accordingly.

ONLY RAW ALUMINUM oil caps will be available.

All caps fit the 2008+ Evo X & Lancers

Pricing Structure:

1-8 people = $42 + shipping
9-15 people = $40 + shipping
16+ people = $35 + shipping

After group buy ends, the price will be $45 + shipping.

Shipping is $7 within the US or $12 to Canada. Shipping is via USPS Priority Mail & takes 2-3 days.

PayPal is my preferred method for transactions.

Background (a short novel):

I personally designed these caps & have previously sold quite a few to the members on here. I try to give the best customer service I can, which these very people can attest to. I always answer my PMs & do so as promptly as possible. The same goes for shipping out the items I sell.

These caps are made by a local machine shop here in Boise, Idaho. I am the one they deal with & I deal with them directly & most often in person. The shop is not the biggest, but they do great work. They actually manufacture & sell the very machines they produce their products on, so they definitely have the know-how.

I try to keep the prices on the caps as low as I can, while still making a slight profit. If I didn’t, it wouldn’t be worth it. The prices for the caps are nowhere near the highest, but aren’t the cheapest things either. The pricing mainly exists the way it is because I myself do not run the machine shop & only involve myself with the shop to produce these caps & that’s it. This is why I don’t get any special deals, which would therefore lower the price.

The caps are designed by an Evo X owner for Evo X owners. They were designed to fit my personal X, but will fit all Evo X models & years, as well as Lancers. They are not produced in large quantities & distributed for other car manufacturers; meaning you won’t find these available for Dodge Neons, unless they’re knock-offs.

The reason these may go into production again is that I have gotten a surprising number of requests for oil caps since I ended production. Several of these have happened in just the past month. These repeated requests have of course made me re-think my strictness in not wanting to make the caps again. So it goes to show that getting enough people together can make a change (somewhat) or annoy the hell out of someone. :)

LOL, I knew you were going to do this! I just bought a black one from another member.
Its a great addition to the engine bay. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a nice little dress up piece.

How'd you know, since I didn't even know? :theeye: LOL. But hey, only 10 black ones were made & I kept one. I won't be making any more of those at all, so you have 1 of 9 in circulation. ;) Thank you BTW.

Are you only going to offer the raw aluminum finish without "Evolution X" etched on them?

I know a local member of the Evo club here saw my blue one and thinks it's awesome. Would powdercoating it cause it to not fit right since the thread would be a little thicker? If I remember correctly, you got them anodized. I'd just like to get enough info to tell him so he can decide or not. :)

Thats me Mondo is talking about. I really want it colored, anodized and the EVO X but whatever your doing  I dont know if this can be done.... but a replacement top for the oil dipstick would be really nice as well the factory one blows and a nice color matching alum one would be sharp as hell.

No, completely free of etching & anodizing. It will fit just fine & I had sold 5 raw ones in the last batch w/o issue. Anodizing is an extremely thin, hard finish that basically bonds/changes the color of the metal itself.

& the guy Kracka was telling me about? I know all of you guys are in TX.

Thanks. I'm not doing colors because not everyone would want 1 specific color & anodizing gets expensive very quickly. The raw caps allow for a cheaper price point & are excellent for those who want to powder coat various items in their engine bay & have the cap match exactly.

they look great!
Thank you!

Yes all in Texas. Ok I'll take a raw one then and have just the top powder coated.

What about the dipstick top? Is that something that can be made?
No dipstick. I have actually been suggested that before, but that's not in my plans.

Also, the caps are only going into production if 8 people sign up & pre-pay. If that number doesn't get reached, I won't be making them at all.

List updated on the 1st page (3rd post).

To those not on the list yet, make sure to add yourselves if you are wanting these to go back into production. Keep in mind this will be the last time I make these. :)
