I dont know if anyone else has seen this or not:

http://www.gtechpro.com/egs.html

I ran across this the other night and it looked very interesting, and cool :) Seems to be priced way better then most multiple device solutions, and offers more data. The only thing I cant figure out is if you can have it be a boost gauge as well, which would be awesome. I know you can configure multiple inputs and all though, so its probably possible.

Anyone use this before, or know anything about it?

Yeah, I am trying to figure out if you can get boost working on this or not. If so, it may be the cheapest multi tool solution out there.

This is different the previous gens Kool. This one actually plugs into everything, like a true logging station. If we can get boost on it, then it will be pretty damn awesome for the price.

I dont need the tach if thats removable I'll contact a fiberglass specialist and have it mounted into the glove box or something and wire it through the dash...I'd be able to use it for quick reference. without it being an eye sore or distraction.

My name is Jovo Majstorovic, president and CEO of TESLA Electronic Inc.

First of all I would like to thank you for the interest in the new G-TECH/Pro EGS. I will try to give you some answers to the questions about the new EGS.

EGS is smaller than a 5" gauge that we are all familiar with. It's a non-standard 4" diameter gauge which makes it easier to install in modern cars.

You decide how "flashy" your EGS is. You can control the intensity and the color of the display. It can still log data even if the display is turned off.

There are two ways you can get the EGS to display boost.
1. Through OBDII interface module ($230 option). This is easy and requires no installation.
2. By splicing the stock boost sensor output and connecting it to the 8 Channel ADC module ($100 option). Requires installation, but less expensive and gives you 7 other data-logging channels to choose from. You choose the units to be displayed and scaling and bingo, you have a recording boost gauge. Setting up any sensor (analog or digital) only takes a couple of minutes and is all done in the user interface right on the gauge.

The really cool thing is that you can, for example, combine boost, rpm, ignition advance and wideband all on one real-time replaying graph!

And yes, you are right, EGS is "pretty damn awesome for the price". Any other questions, just ask away. Thanks for the support.

Hi Jovo,
I really appreciate you coming in to share this information!

I am almost ready to pull the trigger on purchasing one of these guys. Do you have the wiring diagrams for the Evo X though to properly hook up the boost sensor? I would also prefer to have support for my own boost sensor. This should be easy, since I am certain all you do is monitor the voltage levels and apply some scale formula to the output to create a value. However, are most of the 0-5v items scales built into the device? Or am I going to have to figure this out for each device I install? For instance, if I want WideBand o2, am I going to have to program the formula for the WideBand system I got into the device? Same with Knock Voltage, etc.

I really want to get this, but I am very concerned about the over all deliverable meeting all my needs in one package. It seems like it should be possible, but I have been burned by this before. Can you offer some sort of 30 day guarantee on everything meeting my needs or my money back? I couldnt tell you how many worthless devices that cost me several hundred dollars I have sitting in my garage right now, and I am not looking to add to that collection.

Also, if you had some sort of mounting pod that was dash mountable, without drilling, I would be interested in that too! One more thing, I have been fond of your previous products, especially with the downloadable data to a computer stuff. Does the EGS allow you to download data to a PC for comparisons etc?

Thanks,
Chris

Th Gtechs are getting better as time goes on, but i never take the numbers they spit out as gospel.
Back in 2005 C&D tested a bunch of car performance meters, including the Tesla Electronics: G-tech/Pro RR. Here is the link to the test review and article:
http://www.caranddriver.com/feature...sive_performance_meters_work_feature/(page)/1

I just picked up an Escort Passport G-Timer GT2 for $90 including shipped to Canada, through a re-seller on Amazon. Good deal for something that is listed at $180 in the US. And made in Canada! My new (to me) Escort 8500 X50 (red) radar detector is also made in Canada. That gives me a warm fuzzy Canuck feeling inside!

These G-Tech products look really cool, too. Will have to do some more research on them.

I found you guys searching for the buzz on the new EGS gauge. Chris, I will try to answer your questions here.
You can get the boost through OBDII (additional EGS module) or you can set up your own sensor and run it through our A/D 8 channel module. Seting up a sensor requires four steps: type of sensor, range, scale and units. You do it all on the EGS, we tried to make the user experience as easy as possible.

I understand your concerns especially considering how many companies are out there trying to do obd gauges. EGS line will have the same 30 day "no-questions" money back guarantee as our other products. We have been at this for 15 years now.
As part of the EGS line there is a TRIVAC mounting system that will allow you to use the EGS without drilling your dash. I hope this answers your questions and thanks for the support.
