For all of you guys who were holding out for a USDM '08 MR (which has apparently been cancelled), what's your COA now?

Go for a GSR?
Wait until '09 for an MR?
Get another car altogether?

Currently, I have a 06 vw jetta with DSG. Basically the same technology. Every thing you read hear or see about it says how good it is. And granted, when the transmission is warm, it is very good. However, start you car on a normall day 60-70 degress outside, and its very slow to shift, the shifts are hard, and its just hard to deal with. Also when slowing down to a red light and the car is slowing and the light turns green, the transmission has a problem getting power back to the car. with the computer thinking you are slowing it is preloading 1st if you are in second, and you begin to go, it has a had time going to 3rd. I love the perfect rev matcing and the speed of the transmission are great. But its not a 100% love love if you get what im saying.

I'm just going to wait it just means that I can save up a larger down payment now and that I dont run the risk of missing out on one of the 5000 Evos coming to the US

Besides I was actually thinking about leasing the Evo at first to bring the cost down.

Because it shifts faster than you and has an extra gear.
My main thing is the 6th gear. 5spd? Man this ain't the 90's. The GSR should have a heavy duty 6SPD, if anything a 6th gear for highway revs.

+ I want to drive the MR with the paddles and see if it's worthy of the extra $ because I might want it. If this is going to be my commuter I want to see how it'll do. I like clutches very much and view it as part of the driving experience and control of the vehicle, but damn I want to at least try the SST before deciding on which 30K+ car I want.

Remember that the SST isn't the only difference between the MR and GSR ;)

Unless you go on a track it will make no difference, but all teh tests Ive seen shot the SST to be a slower car despite the faster shifts lol

My last two cars had 6 gears and I never ever used fifth, its just not needed on the road if you can hit 90+ in 3rd.

wow, im surprised to see that 0 so far would opt for the GSR and would rather get a different car alltogether...

Is the SST really THAT HIGH on your list?
I want the SST for is versatility I've driven both automatics and manuals

When I have the automatic I'm always dogging it for being in the wrong gear at the wrong time.

When I have the manual I'm usually tired from traffic bunch of idiots here brake for no reason of because the car 500 ft ahead of it is braking...

With the SST I can have the best of both worlds ....I have to sacrifice the clutch but that really doesnt matter since the car will execute the toe-heel downshifting rev match.

Practicallity and desire ...I can have both with the SST and the other cars are either underpower or to expensive the EVO MR has hit that middle ground for me.

Never lease an evo. KMXxbadboy explained why not to. On top of that, they generally don't offer leases on evos.

+1.

I can only imagine how hard it is on my clutch to sit in stop and go traffic for 5-10 hours per week. I have a 26 mile commute to and from work, and often times it take mes about an hour to get to work and near 2 hours to get home. My leg can get pretty damn sore sometimes.

What an MR tag(45G's) can buy for me... My credit is good so I'll go a little above Invoice price.

No car is perfect. I hope there is a car as sexy as the G37 with 7 speed of C350 and a twin turbo of BMW.

1. Infinity. G37,300hp plus, sexy car,but I just hate it that the 4wd altessa is only available in g35 sedan.
