Health Related New Years Resolutions Anyone?

I always try and do something each year health wise. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

About 3 years ago mine was to get quit smoking and I did it.:godance:
The next year was to do Starting Strength weight lifting routine and lift at a Novice level for each lift and I did it. :godance:
The year after that was to keep working out and I failed big time.:duh:
The wife is pregos, we ate taco bell every day, then baby came and stress at work, turned 30, and blah blah blah and I'm fat now.

I'm going to start road racing in 2012 and it's easier to cut weight from myself than it is to take it out of my DD car. Plus I need to get back into shape anyway. I'm 30 now, I can't live off of beer and taco bell, although it has been nice.

Goals:
Lose 45lbs (255lbs to 210lbs) I've done this before no problem. Bulk in the winter cut in the spring. I'll be doing a 5x5 routine with cardio on days off and the majority of my diet coming from lean proteins and veggies for carbs.

Bench: 250lbs
Deadlift: 400lbs
Overhead Press: 170lbs
Squat: 350lbs

Anyone else going to attempt to get healthy for new years?

Started this 2 years ago. Havent looked back.
I did weight training w/ supplements and all that stuff for 5 years before that, but nothing compares to crossfit.

You should really check it out if you are serious about getting back in shape and doing it with purpose. You will actually be able to use crossfit in your daily life.
There is acutally a crossfit gym right down the street from where I work. I keep thinking about stopping in to check it out. I may have to.
I have been slacking it the last 6 months, like literally doing nothing besides a bit of snowboarding the last few weeks.

New years resolution is to start back up with my kickboxing and jiu jitsu schedule and stop being a lazy ass!!! Leaving tomorrow for a 8 days snowboarding trip that will be the begining of the not lazy me haha

Also making a big effort to eat better, started that this week... kind of...
Pretty much same story here, have been eating like shit and slacking in the gym... After the holidays I'm gonna get back to "goin hard in da paint"

Which gym? Crossfit is awesome my friend. The atmosphere, the methods, the people!

Also, its evo related. there is a huge "Spirit of Competition"! :dancebanana:

I need to run by there one day after work and see what it's all about.

Looks solid! They have a similar target audience as my own. Family oriented and scaled to everyones ability.

While our gym is like that, there is a core group of us that is quite intense and we push each other to the limit, as well as towards local competitions and crossfit events.

Yeah I do. There are 2 OB MR's that go to Syncrude gym, mine and the chicks.
I was in real good shape about 3-4 months ago. I cut 20lbs in about 4 months dropping to around 172. Then I fucked my wrist up and haven't been to the gym since. I had surgery yesterday so I won't be going to the gym any time soon either lol. But I deploy soon, that's when I'll get back into it.
60lb by 2013
Got the shock of my life with high blood sugar/pressure/colesterol 2 months back during my annual physical.

Getting things back under control. Cheap mod for the Evo, weight reduction of the driver.
im gonna try and quit smoking. im already a beast in the gym..lol
i think your bench needs to be up way higher with the rest of your numbers...

you should be shooting for 315 bench press for 4-5 with those numbers...at least 275
I need to start drinking more.
Get back in shape... prolly not as I will most likely have only 5-6 days off (minus sundays) in '12.

other than that I would say...

Try not to die in a terrible car fire.
Last week of eating like shit. I got some cookies and some donuts probably going to eat at taco bell for dinner every night and drink lots of beer and get some mcdonalds and whataburger.

Then it's back to chicken and salad and brown rice and protein shakes.
