Just in the middle of changing my turbo, and ive noticed that the front CAT element inside is loose and moving around (there are x2). Now i know where that rattling noise was coming from!!!!

The car is supposed to be getting mapped tomorrow!!

I dont understand why im not getting any DTC fault codes with a broken CAT??

Is there any quick sollution what i can do?

Its the front element whats loose, the rear one looks fine.

If i smash out the front one, will it affect my cars drive abillity?? Dont care about emissions right now, im buying a test pipe in the next few weeks.

Help.

Help!! quick answer needed:blah:

I don't think getting it out would affect how the car runs. It's just like a high flow or test pipe at that point. You might throw an SES light since the A/F sensor would get different readings, but that can be turned off with the tune.

thanks mate, im gonna smash the first element to pieces and shake it out (its still in one piece and wont come out as its too big for the hole).

Let you know what happens :confused2:

Yeah, make sure you get everything out. Don't wanna clog up the cat too much.

well the turbo an MF was on/off loads of times today!! at one point it pissed out loads of oil from a banjo bolt with a broken crusher copper washer.

Today my patience was tested to its limit!!

But thank God the turbo is on... and my car is flying once again... Re-map and test pipe tommorrow:yay:

who tuned
Last time i posted on here about a UK tuner, someone commented that I should remove it as he stated "he isnt an authourised tuner, you should remove that" Is that true??

Anyways, I think the guy is a legend, if the MOD's aren't happy they will remove it....

Matt from TRL UK flew over to sausage-land to sort out X2 Evo X's, one of them was mine (which almost never happened as I had to fit my own turbo in situ on my own having never done it before!! and then drive 200 miles at probably twice the legal uk limit(in germany before people get excited), as he was on a tight schedule)and an R34 GTR.

Honestly I'm so happy, my car is so different!! much louder, and really quick!! with launch control too.:yay:
