Hey, not having much luck on the UK forum so hopefully you guys can shed some light on whats going on..

My 2008 FQ360 with 14K on the clock, which is completely standard wont Turn over.. When I put the key in the ignition I hear what I think are the injectors and the fuel pump priming. Then when I turn the key the rev counter and speedo lights go out and the radio switches off.. I get a single click from somewhere under the dash passenger side but I cant remember if this was normal before..

The engine is not even attempting to turn over..

* I have checked all the fuses on the car and non are blown.
* I have fully charged the battery and tried a different one.
* I am getting no fault codes
* I have tried swapping the Green and Black relay under the bonnet with no joy
* I have disconnected the switch on the clutch to see if that was stopping it.
* I have tried using both sets of keys to start the car.

Has anyone come across this or got any idea of what to do next.. In the manual it shows fuses but not relays, can some one point me in the direction of a relay diagram..

Please guys ANY thoughts you might have of what could cause this fire them into this post.. I am 40 miles away from my Mitsi dealer and its gonna cost me loads so I wanna try as much as I can..

Cheers Chris

It depends...

1) Check starter.
2) Check spark plugs.
3) If your car is recently tuned, checked with your tuner.
4) A possible grounding issue with the electrical systems.

Cheers for the quick reply dude..
1) I have rocked the car incase the starter has seized. What can I do to check the actual motor itself? Do you know where the relay for the start is??
2)What would I be looking for with regards to this?
3)Cars completey standard.
4)Where are the main grounding point on the X..
Thanks Chris

when you say you checked all the fuses?

is that in cabin AND in engine bay (including the main power rail fuses under the red cover)

Yes dude, all the connections under the red cover look good.. I have also shorted the connection on the clutch pedal so see if it was that but still no joy..
If the Immobiliser was playing up would I get a warning on the dash or a fault code? Is there a way to reset it?
Cheers Chris

try unplugging the ECU for a couple of mins then replugging it in..

then waiting a minute

then turning on ACC

then waiting a minute

then turing to IG1

then waiting a minute

turn trying to start
