So i've disassembled my engine, and pulled the pistons, I've got some wear in the cylinders. My finger nails don't catch on the vertical wear... Trying to figure out how to move forward ... already determined i need a new crank and bearings...

Anyway... here's pictures of my cylinder wear. All four are extremely similar to this

I guess I should add this engine has 98000 miles on it, and I'm on the fence on reusing with a dingle ball hone

Looks like they either got a bit hot, knocked or not enough piston wall gap. I’m sure there are other possibilities too.

Try the ball hone and see if that works. If not get a machine shop to hone it. Worst case you overbore with oversized pistons or you sleeve it. Doesn’t look too too bad honestly.

I would still say you'll need a bore job rather than a hone. You can do a hone yourself for free to see if it'll work. If not, have it measured, then decide.
