Couldnt really find much about this. How much clearance do you need between the caliper and rim? I have about 3/4 of an inch of clearance between them and was just wondering if that is sufficient.

Factory clearance on the fronts is about 6mm on the radius. That's ~1/4" to we Americans.

Should be find as long as there IS clearance. I don't think there's a set minimum.

There is gonna be some wheel flex under loading, so SOME clearance is critical. 1/4" side and radial is enough.

Perhaps even more important is to have sufficient clearance so the car remains driveable after a serious pothole encounter.
