How to blow your motor and Get it PAID FOR!

So going into my dealership today to get quoted on fluids. I talk to the service manager about a kid who had a RA under warranty, did his own Oil change. Didn't tighten down the drain plug. His warranty was declined because of user error, but his insurance claimed it under Some negligence Clause and there paying Mitsubishi to put in a new motor. Who would of thunk it?

I just left south park Mitsubishi, PA, 4:32 pm. You want service managers name? I just blew my sb, and am paying out the ass! you think I'd make this up!!?

He fully admited to doing it, 412 back me up bc you know the kid who I'm talking about.

Seems like something that comprehensive coverage might cover. Just know that the kid will be paying his deductible and have a claim on his record.
interested in how the insurance company is claiming this...not the service manager's name or your buddy's name. Don't know them...want to see the insurance claim

Sorry Charlie. That's all I got. My ballz and my word... No insurance claim

Did the manager tell you what insurance company? So when its time for a new engine I'll know to switch companies and pull the plug...literally. haha
This is all true. The kid didn't replace the crush washer after changing his oil and leaked enough out to blow motor. I would much rather have a claim then have the bill to rebuild.
confession: never replaced crush washer in my life, never had an oil plug leak in my life. Sounds like something else would have caused the leak, but hey, at least it's covered.
I'm envious considering he gets a motor bc he's an idiot and I have to pay for my motor bc I wanted to go fast :(

hydrolocking is supposed to be covered!

Rats were using the intake pipe as a slip-n-slide.

Before Teh Evoh Ecks, I also had the same confession. This car is the only one I've ever put a crush washer on, and my other car, I still don't do it. Could be because the Evo is my first brand new car... the other car I bought with 11k miles on it and it cost 1/5 as much as the Evo :p
I believe that SP Mitsu told you that but I do not believe a word that the SP Mitsu servicing department says. Unless there are new managers in the servicing department....

I worked there for about a week back when I got laid off 6 years ago. They basically tried to train me to lie to people, make up stories & take women for all I could with garbage repairs (wipers, door seals, etc). This was the training to be a "service advisor". It was a joke. . . I walked & vowed to never spend a dime at SP Mitsu again.
