Don't - if you leave just a few tiny specs they can ruin an entire new motor, it's not worth the risk.
Can you eloborate? Spec of what? So don't flush after the short block blew up? Won't there be metal shavings in there?

Specs of metal i am going to assume. And no, it took me like 10 times of reading his post too, but dont even flush it he is saying. Buy a new one, because even if you leave a few specs of metal in it by accident, it could ruin your new motor.
Yes don't flush buy a new one.Throw it in the garbage. Get a new one. 500$ will get you a nice brand new oil cooler with all the lines.
You obviously replaced the oil pump too?
