Just bought a navi from a 2010 sss.... I have a SE with garbage non-rf... I'm assuming I just need to get my speakers wired to the amp instead of to the head unit? I went to dealer and tried to figure it out but they couldn't give much more insight

still wondering why some of you guys said it has to be taken to a dealer to reset or program?

if you buy a used one with all its components, is it just plug and play on another lancer (same plugs)

My understanding is the navi does some functions that the radio doesn't

yeap the functions are different so far; i used to work for Pioneer so i just want to understand the main difference of this Navi vs the aftermarket ones;

i have never installed an OEM Navi, just aftermarket ones so thats why i don't know
what else does the dealers do to the OEM Navi once its installed!

maybe is just a hard reset or something?
there's a guy that posted that his was just plug and play, so the questions
would be to the others that went to the dealer.

best regards,

G.

I just installed my navigation this afternoon.. everything seems to be working great except for the volume/power to the speakers. Has anyone else encountered this? I took some pictures of the connections if anyone thinks it would help to see them.

So I took my car to TAS Electronics today..

Without ripping it out and looking at the connections, I was told that it is possible the stock (old) radio had a built in amp (or something that functioned as an amp) which gave power to the speakers. They are under the impression that the navigation unit is in need of a separate amp and a T-Harness in order for me to hear sound. I was under the assumption that this was just a plug and play installation. Can anyone let me know if there is something I am doing wrong or something I should be telling the electronic tech.

Thanks

Hello,

I read your How do regarding the installation of the Nav Unit.

I own a Evo X with the normal audio unit and would like to do the same kind of install, but with a reverse camera.

Will somebody help me ?

I thank you in advance for your kind reply,

Best Regards,

Sincerely,

Jean-Marc
