I just want to share a little story. My buddies and I are in the Military, while deployed we each saved enough money to buy the cars we always wanted. My buddy Brian bought a 2005 GTO, my buddy Rad bought a 2005 Corvette, and I bought a 2011 EVO GSR. Myself and Brian bought our cars during our 2 week leave in the middle of the deployment. We always talked shit about who is going to win the first race............So the time came last week and again tonight. Lets just say he couldn't hack it!:godance:

thats good. I love pissing off vette owners. I raced one at the drag strip, beat him and we went back to the staging lanes. He got out of his car and was talking to his wife. I over heard him say "stupid import cars, dude is running nitrous, thats the only way he can beat me" only mods i had on my car was a dp and test pipe..lol

I haven't had the chance to race the Vette, I don't know if I want to right away lol. I've driven it and it is crazy quick.

Vettes do rip. Even the regular C5s were decently quick and the relatively lighter weight only helped. With just some basic bolt-ons they were in the mid-12s with a decent driver. I wouldn't try one in a stock Evo. How much time you can drop in the 1/4-mile when running Cobb AP Stage 2 or equivalent (with related mods) compared to stock?

The GTOs are slugs. And just plain Jane vettes aren't all that fast. Now if it were a z06 that you raced, then that would be something to talk about.

The thing with the GTO that I learned is that they can't get enough traction no matter WHAT you do. Coworker has one, think it's the 6.2. He's on stock suspension and the BIGGEST tires he can get even WITH rolling fenders are 265s. He has exhaust done, you can hear him creeping around corners for miles. He's now talking about a supercharger. I said "Why? You ALREADY have traction issues?"

Vettes are silly...even a base C5 is on par with us if not a tad bit quicker. I wouldn't try it.

That doesn't sound like a question...I see the "?" at the end but I feel like it's a trap.

I do not know the answer to what you have ... stated. I'll ask when I return from Afghanistan.
"Base" as opposed to C5 Z06. Auto or Man? Wasn't a trap. "C5" is the Gen like X or IX. C4 was the old gen ZR-1 from the 90s, C5 production ran from like 98-MY05. 2006 started the C6 Gen and included the base model (in a few forms), Z06, and ZR1 and the new Grand Sport.

I dropped from 14.1 (stock and without launch control) to 13.4 (launch control and Cobb accessport stage 0 = 100% stock car just a tune)

When I get my UICP and Test Pipe installed I will make a go with the Vette. The GTO went up against couldn't get grip either, that was his excuse. He said "I spun out", I said "sucks to be you" haha.
