Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes that New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is getting national attention because of his race, rather than his exceptional play.

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise," Mayweather wrote on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

I agree with sequence. It might be slightly because he's the Asian kid that nobody gave a shot, but his story is one of the biggest underdog stories in the NBA. He was on the verge of being let go, but he got his chance to shine when he was pretty much the only option left to play as the 4th string point guard. I think he deserves every bit of praise he's getting. Mayweather is just one of those "oh black people this and that" kind of guys. I hope cotto knocks his ass out. If not cotto, then PAC will.

That interview was awesome hahaha. Lin must have been like "you know who I am now?!"

He did make a lot of sloppy turnovers, but he is still a pretty fresh point guard so that's expected. At least he was able to turn it around at the end and even score the game winning 3

Going to the Sacramento game at the Garden tonight. Can't wait!

He has given up a bunch of turnovers at times but last night he was up against a team who's game plan was clearly to stop Lin and foul him hard in the paint. At times he was being double teamed on offence and double screened on defense and his team mates weren't rolling away from the double and not covering on the screens. With all that said to be D'd up like that and put up 27 & 11 as a PG is crazy.

We all know at some point this run will end and his scoring will probably go down, but no doubt he is the real deal.
