so how bad is 28psi for a stock motor. I just added a Cobb sf intake without changing my tune.

3rd 4th gear pull. Brown with panel filter, Blue with intake.

yeah 42-44 range. Both logs are within 1 hr of each other.

The boost number itself isn't necessarily bad. People worry too much about boost numbers. Is it knocking? How do the A/F ratios look?
dont have a wideband.. but car is knocking pretty bad, 0.7 all through the run, with a few 0 and a few 1.05!!

I like the fact that I see a smooth boost curve, so atleast my air system has no leaks..

The perrin tune that I am running has a boost target of 26psi on a panel filter, I did not expect the intake to make that much of a difference specially as it still used the stock MAF.

I checked MAF g/sec vs Boost, and that seemed to not be skewed by the intake..

I'd switch to one of the Cobb maps for that intake.
Yeah switched to Cobb Stage 2 LWG. I'll log tonight and overplot.

The second option I have is to use the same Perrin map and put the boost pil back in.

Try both, log both, put them both into virtual dyno and see who wins ;)

I don't think that .7 is bad at all
I don't either, but I don't know what .7 and 1.05 are in terms of knock sum so I figured better safe than sorry.

But my question remains, why is 28psi bad ?

I think it's more like along the lines that the stock turbo can only do so much and running 28psi vs say 25 psi is not much of a benefit/ratio to putting excessive strain on your moving parts. Also if you running 28psi on a SST...then you can run into big problems....I know you have a GSR...just stating for everyone

ok so what is the recommendation? Just run the current map or evaluate cobbs sf maps and see?
