Magical audio system device?

Is there some sort of device(s) that do all of the following for a 2011 Evo X?

  1. Allow the use of stock steering wheel audio controls on an aftermarket head unit
  2. Allow the use of an aftermarket head unit with the stock audio system
  3. Allow the use of the stock bluetooth controls on an aftermarket head unit.
If so, would any aftermarket head unit work, or would only certain ones work?

Try this or this. Rumor is that the blue tooth may or may not work. Talked to my buddy at stereo shop and he said sometimes the blue tooth controls work some times not.
Axxess one doesnt allow bluetooth to work nor allow the pickup/hang up botton

Is it not a variable based on the HU type? or really just the interface type?

If the Axxess does not enable BT-SWC, which interface does?

Thanks!

Most if not all headunits would work. A majority of the pioneer, kenwood, jvc, sony, alpine, etc etc. I don't think one device does it all, as they have separate functions. Will every combination work? There may be a headunit that doesn't implement BT controls the same way, sure.

1. PAC-AUDIO has an interface for steering wheel and BT controls
2. They'll all work, just need the right harness. Metra MITO-02 works really well.
3. I believe the PAC-AUDIO interface does this too.

I didn't do steering wheel controls but we did it on BitsuMishi's car.

PAC units are labelled based on the brand of headunit you buy. E.g. SWI-PS (Steering Wheel Interface - Pioneer, Sony), SWI-JACK (JVC, Alipne, Clarion, Kenwood, others), etc. Most major manufacturers supported and fairly easy to setup.

Not sure if they all support BT but check the product literature beforehand. Pretty sure Bitsu's SWI-PS for his Pioneer AVIC does it all.

See my post...pretty sure the PAC-AUDIO SWI-PS/JACK/etc. do BT controls as well as steering wheel interface. Almost positive of this fact.
Link me.

I gave up on the axxess
Can't, not an approved vendor. :p

Just google pac-audio

Or add a .com to the end
