We won't settle for anything less than the best when it comes to our engine builds. We utilize quality components along with specialized machining and assembly techniques for each individual platform to ensure the best
possible performance. If we see a gap in regards to acceptable product offerings on the market we often times develop our own like the Ultimate Duty Connecting Rods. We thoroughly inspect, blueprint, clean and assemble our engines in a clean room and most of the machine work is performed in house to satisfy our stringent requirements. 2.0L Features & Benefits

The 2.0L retains the factory crankshaft and connecting rod configuration so there is no need for custom parts here as there are a plethora of options on the shelf at all times!

Included Services

* Engine blocks visit our hot tank before and after machining for a clean, finished appearance.
* Crankshafts are never cut / turned and receive a micro-polish treatment and balancing specifically for high performance applications.
* The machine work process starts with a three step honing process utilizing a 4B11T specific torque plate to ensure roundness. Our three step honing process is finished with a plateau hone for the absolute best cylinder wall finish and ultimate ring seating.
* The last step in the machining process is resurfacing. We pride ourselves on the surface finish (RA) we achieve as it is of the utmost importance in regards to head gasket sealing.

Options

* Crankshaft: We use standard size OEM crankshafts most frequently as we have not had a crankshaft failure to date. However, we realize that cores are hard to come by and there are weight advantages with some aftermarket crankshafts so we will happily build your shortblock accordingly!

Core Requirements

Our stage 1 shortblocks do not feature an overbore as the stock sleeves get too thin for our liking at .020" over. As such, we require that your core be in pristine condition so that any defects or blemishes in the cylinder wall can be removed in our honing process. If your core is not acceptable we can either build from a new OEM shortblock or build you a stage 2 shortblock that features aftermarket sleeves as outlined below.

Stage 2 Features & Benefits

Our stage 2 shortblock retains the factory crankshaft and connecting rod configuration and features Darton MID sleeves for the ultimate in strength and durability! Pistons are available in 86mm (2.0l), 88mm (2.1l) and 90mm (2.2l) for those that would like to take advantage of the additional displacement capabilities of a sleeved block!

Our stage 2 shortblocks feature Darton MID sleeves, meaning that just about any cylinder wall blemish can be overcome. However, If your core is not acceptable (hole in the block, etc) you can purchase a new OEM shortblock to start with as well.

Connecting Rods

Manley I Beam Connecting Rods
Manley Pro Series "I" Beams are forged from 4340 aircraft quality vacuum degassed material, utilizing
the proven "Turbo Tuff" design and include 3/8" ARP 2000 cap screws.
All rods are properly shot peened after machining and 100% magnafluxed.
On all Manley connecting rods, sets are weight matched to ± 1.5 grams, big and small end bores are
final honed to a tolerance of ± .0002", critical bend and twist attributes are held to a minimum.


Pistons


Wiseco Forged 9:1 Pistons

Highlights and Features:

1. Valve pocket designs that allow maximum flow around valve, also allowing oversized valves ang high lift cams to be utilized.
2. Piston crown shapes designed to promote maximum intake charge efficiency thru scavenging mixture "cross flow" during intake and exhaust valve overlap. More fuel and air equals more horsepower!
3. Pistons designed to optimize squish or quench during compression combustion cycle event, resulting in resistance to detonation and pre-ignition. The end product is longer engine life and increased horsepower potential.
4. Complex piston skirt profiles that reduce power robbing friction, yet promote stability in bore for optimum ring seal. Wiseco has added skirt coatings to the long list of standard features on stocked sport compact pistons!
5. Precision machined ring grooves with proper orifice/accumulator volume using calculated groove root diameters and axial widths, featuring excellent surface finish and flatness providing maximum ring seal and minimizes blow-by and oil consumption.
6. World class forging facility that utilizes the latest technologies featuring complex forged shapes, advanced materials, and featured aligned grain flow technology.


Head Studs and Main Studs


ARP Head Stud Kit
All Pro Series ARP2000 studs are centerless ground, heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining,
and are nominally rated at 220,000 psi. These fasteners deliver a 35% increase in tensile strength over
the OEM torque-to-yield (TTY) head bolts.


ARP Main Stud Kit
This ARP2000 main stud kit includes a set of ten, M10 ARP2000 main studs, a set of ten, M8 ARP2000
main studs, twenty 8740 chrome moly steel 12 pt nuts and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener
assembly lubricant. All Pro Series ARP2000 studs are centerless ground, heat treated prior to thread
rolling and machining, and are nominally rated at 220,000 psi. These fasteners deliver a 50% increase
in tensile strength over the OEM main bolts.


Cosworth Head Stud Kit 11mm
Essential for high performance engine builds, heavy duty head studs reduce cylinder head movement
in high boost or high compression engines optimizing cylinder head to block sealing. Cosworth Ultra
High Performance Head Studs are manufactured from H11 tool steel with 260,000psi tensile strength
and come complete with nuts and washers. Manufactured with hex broach end for ease of installation.
Additionally, genuine Cosworth head studs utilize a base seating feature to evenly distribute maximum
load on the stud and not the threads. This feature is typically found only in high level race engines.

Cosworth 2.2L Stroker Kit

Increased displacement means increased performance and the Cosworth 2.2L EVO X stroker kit is the perfect way to add power and torque to your EVO. Each kit includes select, matched motorsport grade components ensuring maximum reliable performance. Features billet steel, fully counter weighted crankshaft for smooth, high revving operation along with Cosworth forged steel connecting rods and forged pistons. The Cosworth 4B11T 2.2L stroker kit combines the perfect bore to stroke ratio, yielding potentially big gains in torque while still allowing the engine to rotate and produce power in the higher rpm range.

ERL Stroker Kit for 4B11
The ERL 4B11 Stroker Kit is an economical way to obtain a large displacement Mitsubishi 4B11.
The Stroker kit can be purchased with stock 86.5mm pistons producing 2.3L of displacement or
with oversized 90mm pistons producing 2.5L of displacement. The 4B11 has a stock stroke of only
86mm, ERL increases this by 11mm to 97mm. The ERL 4B11 Stroker kit comes with custom Wiseco
pistons, forged crankshaft, K1 rods and ACL race bearings. Sleeved Block is necessary if using
90mm pistons.

The M7 Super Stroker Kit provides more power and torque capabilities of your engine. The kit includes
M7 Crankshaft, M7 Piston Kit and M7 Super Connecting rods. The lightweight, high strength, and rate
of balance of those parts will definitely improve your engine overall response. You can use broadly
in various fields such as street, circuit running or drag race.


Headgaskets


Cosworth Head Gasket (Evo X)
Cosworth High Performance Multi layer steel head gaskets are designed to seal in power under the
most demanding conditions. Each gasket is carefully engineered with the following features:
• Individual die cut layers of stainless steel with superior consistency compared to laser cut gaskets.
• Pre-coated stainless steel with a 0.25 micron layer of nitrile rubber ensures consistent distribution
of coating with no high or low areas.
• Manufacturing dimensional tolerance of 0.002”.
• Die cut manufacturing process ensures smooth edges, unlike laser cut gaskets.
• Cosworth gaskets feature a “stopper” sealing layer for additional torque around each cylinder. The
width of sealing area is specific for each application thereby providing ultimate sealing properties.


Brian Crower Head Gasket (Mitsubishi Evo X)
BC gaskets are made in Japan and deliver the ultimate sealing capability even at extreme boost pressures.
Individual die cut layers of stainless steel with superior consistency compared to other leading gaskets.
These inferior brands are constructed with too high profile of beads which is prone to fatigue, losing the
spring effect in a relatively short period of time and consistency of sealing pressure, resulting in leakage.
BC gaskets are pre-coated stainless steel with a 0.2 micron consistent layer of Nitrile rubber that completely
fills the cylinder head surface. Even a newly resurfaced cylinder head and/or block has a surface finish or
roughness between 10 to15 microns and this Nitrile rubber completely seals the surfaces at operating engine
temperatures, unlike the FKM type which is not suitable for filling the surface roughness because the material
has too high of heat resistance. Basically the FKM does not melt to fill into the surface roughness
providing the proper seal.
