As we all know the star spec is a great tire for autocross, even so the MPSS was rated the highest traction AA, even higher then the Star specs. So do some research my friend and then make a markable contribution to this forum.
just read up champ, your still clogging this thread with useless information.
U mad bro?
If you reap what you sew, don't act like an ass if you don't want confrontational responses. I'll admit, I understand how Jazz's responses could have upset you, especially since you just bought a set of these tires. Though your argument would have been much more successful if it wasn't wrapped up with the smart comment :/. Just some food for thought.

Man, I really wish we were closer to each other, you know we could hang out. I could introduce you to my size 12. Seriously, you had some good points until that comment.
Not sure what this is, a petty threat? Oh you're offended by my comment which was a response to your "U mad bro?". Sorry, but that response was pathetic, sorry for speaking my mind.

Ever since Trick3d gave me the nickname "The Preacher" I must have let it get to my head, my size 12 one, I wouldn't want to have to slap you with it (LOL!)

I know I'm being a little antagonistic, my apologies.

For what it's worth, you can save 1.9x4=7.6 lbs of rototional mass by switching out to MPSS in stock sizes. Numbers based on OEM weights provided by each manufacturer. :-D

I run hankook v12 evos daily, and bFG r1 at the track. Drove my friends bimmer in the wet with the MPs2...... They are a great all around DD tire, quiet, soft, impressively grippy.

1) would not track on them
2) nitro fill them to 36psi and enjoy for many miles
3) buy track tires if u plan on tracking your car.

The PSS is what replaced the PS2's. It's a much better tire, so they say.

From those of you who have purchased/installed the PSS, any updates?

Now that these have been out for a while. Has anyone who has run star specs switched to these? How are they vs star specs?

I've been on them for a couple weeks and I think they live up to every bit of the hype. The grip is endless all the while being very quiet and soaking up small bumps in the road like a champ. They are also very responsive. I figured because they were new with much deeper tread that they would feel sloppy. Not at all in fact. They are sharp and very communicative. So far I love them.

I'm currently running star specs and was debating going to the pilot sports. A friend of mine is a tire designer/tester for goodyear and tests brakes and stuff. Point of the story is he told me the Michelins are "over priced POS, stick with the star specs" And no he doesn't work for dunlop. Seemed to solidify my decision on going with star specs again.

I'd try the michelins hpevox. If you ever race in the rain you'll know why they are so good. Low noise, lots of grip, smooth.

The grip on them is phenomenal, had me keeping u with a cayman r that was running slicks. And he wasn't exactly a bad driver lol.

My dad also runs them on his gt3rs.

Wow, that is funny. Really funny actually. Here in Akron Ohio, Michelin is a god in the tire business. More or less the benchmark. I've worked very closely with Goodyear engineers over the years and Michelin quality has always been what they shoot for. Not saying they are leaps and bounds above other products, but they are an industry standard and to call them POS is silly. If anything is POS it's just about EVERYTHING Goodyear makes. The only thing they are really competitive in is the racing division. Everything else they make is just meh. We just hired a guy that ran the drag tire and land speed division. He designed all the tires for NHRA top fuel and salt flat cars. Real cool dude. VERY smart. You should hear how HE talks about Goodyear tires. Lets just say I'll never buy any.

I've never ran in the rain. My main event is autox, which is why he recommended star specs again, due to requiring little time to gain temp and stick.

I don't doubt that guy's knowledge or experience either. I'm sure it's just what one says over another up to a certain point lol. Like I said this guy gets paid to design, test and race the tires. It's his job, so i don't doubt his abilities either. Just like one M.D. doesn't agree with another doctor's decision even though they are both licensed in the same field i guess lol.

I am running these on my new wheels in a 275/30/19 size and they are UNREAL! for grip... it's like the grip never runs out. Even when the streets are wet, these tires grip like I am on dry pavement.
