I have had these on since early april. I have never driven on a better tire so far. Can't compare to oem tires as i bought the car second hand with michelin pilot all seasons. Really good in the rain/standing water. The reasons i run michelin is because they have a manufacturing plant here where i Live and "coupons" are given to employees, the climate is very wet here, and the car is a daily driver. For motorsports i think there are better options, but for daily driver they are #1 imo.

Tires so far in 2 years:
michelin pilot sport all seasons (wore down center fast, too much pressure i guess)
bridsgestone blizzak ws60 (scary soft when they were new, but never got stuck, very fun in the spring when they were wore down after two hard winters)
Michelin pilot sport ps2 (ruined the front tires during a lapping session after only 7000kms.)
mirada sports gtx all season (cheaped out, surprisingly decent tire, still got em for back ups)
michelin super sports (best so far...got punctured/patched after only 6000kms :()

I ordered a set of 275/35 18s today from Discount Tire Direct. Should have them mounted this weekend. Will post a review.

I recently changed brake pads and did some cold-tyre braking bedding & tests with my G-meter installed. The Dunlop Z1s on the stock BBS rims and saw 0.98G max under braking on cold tyres. The PSS (245/40-18 on 8.5x18 rim) showed a MAX of 0.86 G during heavy braking for the first three stops. Engaging ABS in both cases. Pavement temp was 98 degrees F. Only change was swapping wheels/tyres.

Those PSSs need lots of time/work to warm up. Cold, out of the box they're way behind the Z1 in grip level.

Good point. The Dunlops won the Car and Driver tire shoot out in 2009 and the test drivers praised their grip levels when cold. In the 2012 test, they came in third in the dry auto-x with the Michelins coming in second on the Tire Rack test course. The placement in the auto-x might have been based on average lap time so the tires got heated up. With its stiffer sidewall, I would take the Dunlops over the Michelins if I planned to spend more time on the auto-x course.

Installed the Michelin PSS today in 275/35/18. Just barely had enough room inboard up front between the tire and strut (2 credit card width) on the NT03 18x10.5 +30 and the JRZ RS1s and camber plates alignment set a -2. No rubbing on the fender liners.

I was coming off a set of Kumho XS with not much tread left so the Kumhos were noisy and running firm. The Michelins are amazingly quiet for a performance tire. Right now they are not as grippy as the Kumhos but they need more mileage to get rid of the mold release. I'm experiencing a fair amount of tread squirm during cornering but that's to be expected on a new set of tires.

i have Michelin PSS. they are an excellent street performance tire in the dry and wet. they will suffice for the occasional track visit which is why i bought them. If i track more, i will buy a setup of rpf1 for a 2nd set of wheels and wrap them with either BFG rivals, ZII, or RS3.

that being said, i think i'm going to try the RE-11A next time I need street tires... unless the PSS really does give me 30,000 miles of life.

So what's the verdict for these vs AD08?
I actually read through most of the posts. Among all the useless bantering there were 2 maybe 3 posts that were actually answering the question even if all they said were "they're a little less sticky than the stock ones in dry but better in everything else". This is in line with most ive read about these tires through researching for the last few days too.

I did see quite a couple posts of "they have endless grip".. which didn't make sense to me but I think its safe to say they're probably more or less equal in terms of dry grip but way better in wet and everything else. If you're satisfied with the stock grip these will probably be great tires for you.

I'm also picking a set of these within the next week or two to replace my stock ones. Unfortunately by the time I can review them fairly (couple thousand miles), you would have probably already replaced yours.

I was stuck on this decision for a while before buying my PSSs. I kept reading to ignore the ratings and categories, saw all the performance cars that come with them stock, and finally ordered a set from TireRack. I'd take these over the stock tires any dam day. Huge improvement in comfort, less road noise, awesome performance in wet weather, and tons of grip. I remember my stock Advans would squeal and break loose a little around corners. The PSSs just grip and grip and grip. It almost takes the fun out of it. The Only thing I'd say I like better about the stock tires is the stiffer sidewalls.

Still have these tires with 26k on them with moderately aggressive driving, easily the best all around street tire. They have another 8-10k in them too. I've driven a handful of the top tier tires, included Star Spec Z1, R-S3, RT615. On the street unless you are pushing to the limits, 70-80 on off ramps, then you are not going to notice a difference.

Plus at $1100 for a set (265/35/18), I would have already almost spent $3400 on RS-3's in the same amount of mileage. Will definitely buy them again.

I agree. Just a fantastic touring tire.
