I have no idea why this works, but there is a short some where in my car. If I roll up or down the windows in the rear sometimes the sound will come back.

Also try slamming the rear doors. That would do it too. Leave the car on and the radio on and open and close the rear doors.

Yes I know it sounds stupid but it would fix my no sound problem.

Thanks for the response, but that didn't work. ughhh lol these stupid cars. I saw it doesn't work after a fuel pump was installed, that's about when mine stopped working too...right after a new pump was installed... weird...

I hate it for you. I have the same issue on my 08 GSR every month or so. The radio will just not play any sound, every single other thing on the MMCS works. It will usually last a few days then it goes away for a few weeks. I feel like my EVO got the herp' lol

Mine just started doing this today as well, and at the worse time. Turned my car on this morning to make a three hour drive back home from a wedding and the MMCS wouldn’t even turn on! About 10min into the drive it turned on and there was no sound. Got gas, turned the car on to leave and the MMCS wouldn’t turn on again, ended up turning on about thirty minutes later... still no sound.

Frustrating.

unfortunately i have had the same problem... i am not sure if the cold weather out here did anything to my battery that caused my amp to fry on startup...

My questions...

Does anyone know where to buy a OEM RF amp for ourcars?

Has anyone had experience with this (and still have both fuses working)?

Thanks!

I used to own 2001 civic and one day water got into the door and flooded one of the speakers - apparently when one of the speakers is shorted, the whole sound system doesn't work at least in my case - opened up the door, dried everything, cleaned the wiring and vu-a-la -all worked great after that.

Mine does this also and its pissing me off. The volume level wont change and all sound cuts out. It wont even beep. Everything works fine, just no sound at all. Turning it off and on does nothing. Resetting it does nothing. The only thing that helps (Sometimes) is turning the car off and on. And then sometimes it does the same crap all over again when I try to change the volume. I also got no rca inputs in my factory ordered evo x with nav. After I get tired of this car, never buying mitsoshitty again.

Same issue on mine as well. It's getting more frequent. If I turn off the car and then back on it usually fixes it. I called the service dept and they said if they can recreate it they can fix it but since it goes away when I restart I can't show them the problem so I don't think I get it covered. I'm worried it's going to go out for good after my warranty is up.
