ok let me get straight to the point how bad is it to use nail polish remover to remove tree sap and what not....will it eat thru the clear since it contains acetone. long story short i used some on my rear bumper today doesnt look like it did damange but what should i expect i did was it off and wax the area a couple time wit polish and paste wax...any ideas?

thanks i washed that area and waxed it a couple times now. im freakin out theres no damage but idk if it ate the clear coat or not. i used it to remove some super glue when i was fixin my aero kit.

Try WD40 - i used 2 cans on my ENTIRE CAR (removing tar) and it didn't cause any issues with fading or anything. Paint looks and feels the same as it did when i first bought it.

i forgot what product to use but if you wanna detect if the clear coat is missing, theres some sort of car product that is apply like a wax that glows under the black light and with the missing clear coat the wax should be concentrated in that area.
