Is the lancer navigation unit a bolt into an evo x without the navigation option from the factory? Besides the other faceplate needed? I saw the thread with the pictures of the navi unit but wasn't able to see much.

My evo x i'm getting isn't going to have the navi and I want to install it.

thanks much,
Kevin

yes, its a plug and play setup. You will need to take it to the dealer after your install because they have to program it to accept data from the car itself using their MUT-III programming system.

The part numbers you need are:

MZ360141EX or MZ360151EX for the Nav Unit (Latter number replaces the previous part number... same item)

and MZ360180EX or MZ360192EX (Latter number replaces the previous part number... same item)
for the install kit (double-din bezel)

Check with your local dealer how much it would be to program before you purchase it from ebay. You might find the net cost to be close to the same after all is said and done.

Good luck! I am doing the same thing on my X. My parts are arriving in a couple of days and I am simply waiting for my X to come back from the dealer for an unrelated issue....

Just order the parts by part number. They are INDEED intended for the regular Lancers but are COMPLETELY compatible with wiring on the X... Dealer is just giving you a hard time. I will be installing tomorrow when I get my X back from the dealer from non-related issues...

are u installing the gps on your own? or the dealer? or aftermarket guys?

if not the dealer, do i have to take the gps back to the dealer to get it certified?

thx for the info

I'll be installing the unit in myself. Stay tuned for a how-to over the weekend... When everything is installed, the car WILL require a trip to the dealer so they can program the unit with their MUT-III scan tool. Only way the unit will interface with the cars trip computer, etc...
