So today since it was a great day I decided to drive with my windows down and enjoy the day. With that being said, I was driving and noticed a "rattling' type noise coming from the front/under side of the car. At first I thought it had to be a bolt and maybe it loosened up, maybe it was the heat shields between the exhaust and underbody of the car, or if there was something clapping with the body. Wasn't any of that.
I then go into the engine bay and check around the back of the engine by the turbo and the sound was louder there, i removed the heat shield and started to hear/feel for the rattle. Found that the arm of the waste gate actuator was rattling at the point where the arm connects to a 'rod type arm' that secures the waste gate arm with a clip. The actual 'rod type arm' felt loose and I don't know if it's supposed to be like that but when i held it all together very tightly with my oven glove (LOL) there was no rattle whatsoever.
So my question, do I need a new actuator (i think its unlikely), clip, or 'rod type arm' thing that connects to the turbo housing? I have a 2011 Evo X GSR
Also has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks guys
