Picking up an evo at the end of the week and all i want to do is put a decent tune on it so it will be a touch faster than stock. This being my first Evo coming from an 00 Mustang GT and 91 Honda CRX which are both fully built i have no idea what to buy or look for. I myself have only tuned with hondata.

Now what should i buy? I am not even sure what is available. I definitely want to be able to datalog with it. If there is something out there that i can use maps i download from the internet that would be excellent because over time i will be doing basic bolt-ons and would like to make the most of them.

Look around on these tuning forums. You have 2 main options, opensource (ecuflash and evo scan) or Cobb AP (access port). The AP is easier, more expensive, and comes with off-the-shelf tunes. On the other hand, open source offers more features, is less expensive, but has a larger learning curve.
