I've searched the forum but only found threads that described different noises. The noise happened yesterday evening after a bit of spirited driving. Car idles fine, spools up fine until about 4k RPM then a loud clunking noise begins. It will continue accelerating but will make a loud clunking noise, once I let off it continues to run smoothly. Any ideas? I will try and post a video tonight after I get off work. Thanks!

Here's the video...

I should probably add that when the clutch pedal is pushed in the noise will go away but will start up again once let go.

Okay I tried taking a video on my phone but my phone sucks so i'm going to see if I can get a camera or something. I found a video that sounds similar to the noise coming from my car, the car in the video is an MR and mine is a GSR.

watching the video, aside from the obnoxiously loud injectors on that car, I detect what sounds like some knock. Obviously that's not good. If it's knock, you could be risking that motor of yours trying to reproduce the noise. I had a rod bearing on my '95 DSM Turbo go out on me years ago and I think it may have sounded similar to that video when it first started.

Fuck my life. If its something as bad as everyone is saying then I have no idea what I will do. The engine only has like 12,000 miles :(

you said when you step on the clutch the noise goes away? If the noise goes away when you step on the clutch it usually mean throw out bearing is bad causing the noise.
Wouldn't the noise be quieter?
