We've all heard that there will be no Evo XI, but does anyone know if Mitsi have plans to kill off the ralliart too?

if not then then it looks like the ralliart will be the future!!:confused2:

I think they've stopped short of officially killing the Evo line. They just say it'll change direction, so probably a away for the purist 2.0l turbo four/~300hp formula

Isn't there already a 9,000-page thread about this?

And it's dropping dammit.
Droping, according to urban dictionary, is to grope while drunk at a club.

From the statements I saw from Mitsu I was under the impression the Ralliart would stay in production, but would be non-turbo AWD. This was to compete with the non-turbo Impreza (as Subaru is divorcing the Impreza and WRX, so the Impreza RS will just be Impreza and Impreza WRX will be just WRX).

Below illustrates the way I understand it, but don't quote me on all this, it's taken from rumors that have floated around for a year or so. A lot changes every day.

Compact car / coupe (4/6cyl excluding larger cars) by make for market USDM:

Subaru
fwd - nothing
rwd - BRZ
awd - Impreza
awd + turbo - WRX
Performance - STi
Hybrid/Elect - Nothing
Hybrid/Elect Performance - Nothing

Mitsubishi
fwd - Lancer
awd - Ralliart
rwd - Nothing
awd + turbo - Nothing
Performance - Nothing
Hybrid/Elect - MiEv
Hybrid/Elect Performance - Evo XI (2014+)

Nissan
fwd - sentra
fwd + turbo - Juke
rwd - Z
awd - Juke
awd + turbo - Juke
Performance - GTR
Hybrid/Elect - Leaf
Hybrid/Elect Performance - Nothing

Ford
fwd - Focus / Fiesta
FWD + turbo - Fiesta
rwd - nothing
awd - nothing (Focus Non US)
awd + turbo - nothing (Focus Non US)
Performance - nothing (Focus Non US)
Hybrid/Elect - Nothing
Hybrid/Elect Performance - Nothing

Toyota
fwd - Corolla / Scion tC
FWD + Turbo - Corolla (http://green.autoblog.com/2010/12/1...arging-direct-injection-to-boost-ice-efficie/)
rwd - FT86/FR-S (scion branding)
awd - Matrix
awd + turbo - nothing
Performance - FT-86/FR-S
Hybrid/Elect - Prius
Hybrid/Elect Performance - Nothing

Chevy
fwd - Cruze , Sonic
FWD + turbo - Cruze, Sonic
rwd - nothing
awd - nothing
awd + turbo - nothing
Performance - Sonic
Hybrid/Elect - Volt
Hybrid/Elect Performance - Nothing

Obviously there's lots of holes in this, and I'm just throwing up "similar target market vehicles". Obviously I know the Camaro is RWD, and the Toyota Highlander is a hybrid, but it's a different target market to sell to than the BRZ or the Juke. Tried to think of what I would think would be listed in car and driver in opposing columns of + on this, - on that for a features list. Update if you know better!

From the list you can see that if Mitsu decides to keep the Evo heritage, but does "go green", it will be unique as other competitors haven't said anything about "Peformance" and "Hybrid" in the same form.

Wtf is the OP talking about!?

There is an interview in one of my mags (january edition) with the boss of Mitsi stating that they have to kill off the evo, but have some "other" production cars coming out. Just like your diesel/hybrid link. Only it wont even carry the Evo name either.

Wake up!! were all driving the last ever evo.

+ look at them drawing FFS!!?? Ive seen neanderthalls draw better things than that!!!

It's the reason why I sold my 05 STi to buy a X. I wanted to look back and remember how I've owned two of the most popular AWD turbo rally-bred cars of the late 20th - early 21st century.

I miss my STi a little, but feels good to get in on the X before it's gone. Also means when I go to sell and move on, they might hold their value quite well ;)
