Over Boost issue.

So far this happened twice to me. Once being last night. At WOT I notice my psi shooting to 22lbs. I'm currently at stock boost, so when this happens my ASC off light appears and a maintenance message pops up. When I shut the engine off and restart the car everything is back too normal. I AM running a full vta bov but like I said this only happened twice recently and I been running vta for the last year with no issues. I will recirculate but curious if this happened to anyone else or if anyone know what could be the cause.

I won't bother with the VTA comments, I'm sure others will jump on the bandwagon for that, but 22 pounds is not a lot of boost, stock tune usually hits 21 pounds. Are you sure your boost gauge is correct and it's not over boosting more than that?
Like i said im setting back to recirc but i just want to know is that the cause or is it something else. I just dont understand why my asc would go off and yes when it happened last night i watched the gauge spike pass 21 pounds so it coulda been 23 or 24psi i cant be certain all i know is when i seen the asc go off i let off the gas. I heard someone before say something on this matter about hitting the rev limit idk. Just curious if this is a major concern. I do not have a 3 port idk if this would cure this or not.
Are you using a MBC or still using the sctock controller?
If you are hitting the ASC Off indicator you are probably overboosting to near 30psi.
No mbc. And silicon tek any idea why this would happen? Should i be worried? Im taking my car to Sean Ivy for a tune within the next month, this car is my DD but i rarely go anywhere besides work and thats 5 minutes away, i normally use my wifes car. I caught the gauge at the last second out of the corner of my eye and when i saw it all i seen was it was past stock boost, last time it happened i wasn't paying any attention to my gauge.
I spiked to 23lbs a couple times after installing an intake/cat-less turboback and having a little too much fun in 5 degree weather. Could be the cold temps.
If that light is going off and your gauge says 22, I'd check your gauge. Like Tec said that light doesn't get triggered till over 30psi.

Do you have any tuning software? Cobb? OpenSource?

The simple fact is you have a lot of mods on the car and no tune. You need to baby the car until Sean can get his hands on it.

I would avoid all full throttle situations until the car is tuned.
are you tuned for the bov? as has been said, the asc light pops on at 30psi. if you havent been tuned for it, id pull it off and put the stocker back on until your scheduled tune. also what gauge are you using because it sounds like it is off by a fair amount.
Well lets hope that doesn't happen. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Stocker is back on and i drive this car 10 miles if that a day. Besides being an ass the other night i baby the hell outa her. Parts were all installed 2 weeks ago. Im now just gona take my wifes car to work till i get it to sean.
