How many here have over rev'd the X? Ofcoures not intentionally (I hope), but how many have gone just a tad over?

Maybe because the throttle response isn't what you had in your last car, or maybe you didn't get all the way into gear. Just wondering (stuck at work bored).

At what point does it stop? The rev limiter cuts the fuel on you, but how far up?

I'l be honest. I let go of the gas -> then step on the clutch. It seems to still climb. Just me learning the car? or the fly by wire?

Nope, haven't taken it past 7000. Came close while accelerating once but other than that nope.

My GTO had fly by wire and I only experienced this issue on cold start whereas I get this nearly all of the time in the X. I assumed it might have something to do with how long the intake pluming is (with the turbo pressure and all). Granted the ThrottleBody is still right by the intake manifold, I figure some air might get through.

If someone actually KNOWS why X's do this, please chyme in.

I've taken mine past as well... the fuel cut-off keeps anything bad from happening

I thought thats what rev limiters were for. Ive hit the limiters in every car Ive owned and some that I didnt own
