New to the forum and very interested in the Evo X.

Was wondering what kind of numbers people have put down w bolt on mods only (stock turbo). MBC, full exhaust, intakes, etc...

Let the bragging begin

None for me but if you look around the performance threads a little bit there are gains from 30hp with an intake and exhaust all the way up to 100hp with FMIC, turbo-back exhaust, intakes, and MBC's.
All in all it's pretty spectacular and I am really impressed with the number of companies that are developing parts (and so quickly I might add) for the new evo.

I knew this version evo would have just as much potential as the past years. Those are pretty good power gains w simple bolt ons. I'll do a better search and see what I can find.

Keep the braggin coming.

Are you saying that having the meanest factory street machine this side of the GTR isn't enough that we have to chop up our cars and make them faster?
It's like trying to keep up with the Joneses.

HAHA agreed! But defo love to upgrade..factory is quik n all but after some time you get used to it if you get me. LOVE UPGRADING..facotry doesn't cut it for long but definitely respectable. Not tryin to take anything away from a well-built factory beast.

From my searches the combo of drop down pipe, either test pipe or performance cat, and cat back yields 60 - 70awhp. Higher range is when in conjunction with mods on intake side that boost another 20-30 hp with cold air intake/ cone filter and solid intercooler pipe. In addition, the exhaust swap drops about 30lbs from stock. Coolest part is we spent 33000 for first 250 awhp, but another 1250 buys another 100. Addon a vishnu ecu (not out yet, but has been reviewed) and you get another 100 awhp. And, I don't know if you can count cams as a bolt on (in a DOHC setup this isn't a far stretch) you can get another 35awhp or so.
However I spoke to my local shop and they said if you want a chance at staying in warranty, leave the MAFSensor in tact, and you may be able to get away with swapping intercooler pipe, cold air intake, cat back, and maybe dropdown pipe. for a gain of about 80awhp, but there are also reports that if you do anything to modify the hp, then you're voided.

Maybe I'm confused here, but according to what you're saying above you/this shop is getting 200+ whp more then anyone else in the world has gotten on the stock turbo.

On top of this, you're gains from everything contradicts what everyone else has gotten thus far. You're gaining WAY more on the exhaust then anyone else so far, less then anyone else on the intake side, and over double what anyone else has gotten with a retune.

As far as the warranty claims, you're way off base.

I guess I'm confused or something here...

Hey, I didn't say I gained jack. I'm reading reviews and forums. see vishnu evo x on edmunds for ecu specs or go to http://www.vishnutuning.com/evo.htm to see what they've done with the previous evos. Keep in mind their numbers are based off of hp at the wheels. for intake info look around. I never claimed that this was accurate, its only what I've read and seen on the dyno graphs posted on other sites. My point is that doing exhaust can get you 60-70awhp, if you go from the turbo back, and in conjunction with other upgrades, (that is you've already done the intake side, dynoed, got results, upgraded exhaust, dynoed again, and recorded difference), you can gain big numbers. The high number their is with a test pipe in place of the cat. The low number is with high flow cat. Air intake alone can net you a gain of 15-20 awhp, and intercooler pipe claims range from 10-15 awhp. I'm sure these are when used in conjunction you may see a gain of 25-30awhp. So, we're right back to the 100 awhp gains from bolt on. And Vishnu has always gained b/w 75-100 hp with just ECU.
And about the warranty, I said i didn't know, I've heard conflicting statements, but the service and parts department leads told me at the Mitsu dealership, that I could change the pipes that i mentioned above without worry. Maybe they meant they wouldn't report it for that, idk. And i did say that I've also heard that if you modify the hp at all, you've voided the drivetrain warranty.
What is your problem with what I posted, or did you read it prior to going off?

I read it, re-read it, and read this post, and it's still quite unclear.

As far as gaining 75-100 whp on a tune, you're not talking a stock or even bolt-on car. I'l give you $100 if you can show me someone who's gotten 100 whp on a tune without it being a highly modified car with a crappy tune to begin with and then just bringing it in-line with what it needs to run normally.

Actually, I see what you're saying now.

You've read Shiv's wesite and that article and despite what 20 other shops have attained with the car, you're buying into Shiv's marketing and creative math.

My mistake.

^Yeah, don't always take a company's numbers as gospel. While some companies are honest about their gains, others state higher numbers in order to win sales. I'm not saying that Shiv does this per say, but just be cautious.
