no power shifting is when you keep the accelerator down, and when its time to shift you briefly hit the clutch and go to next gear. keeps the engine in the powerband

and yes OP I do it, it def shortens the life of your clutch. how long? idk. how bad? i still dont know
No that is a " no lift shift" . Power shit is when you dont clutch.
For NLS you can get tune for it. So as you touch the clutch the ecu cuts the engine ( kind of). That is why you hear the big bang at the rally with a N/A cars usually.
I will get a tune for it this year toowhen finally my engine will be finished.

Ok, when would you lift shift and when would you power shift? Is there particular situations with each where that particular style of shifting is better? Is one better than the other, or is it just a matter of opinion?

all based off what type of transmission/engine you are working with.... high revving engines such as hondas and rotary engines can power shift no problem....

I wouldnt try power shifting in my Evo, but I do no lift shift.

what cracks me up is one of the guys i work with. Me and my buddy talk about cars and shit, we both know a pretty good amount of cars and racing. Another guy i work with will jump in the convo and talk about cars/racing as well but the things he comes up with are so retarded. He took all the fast and furious movies to heart..lol.
