its possible, but a lot of work, you can buy an evo shell instead, at least you will have lighter weight body...I'll keep this short and sweet. From what I know, this should be simple, but before I invest and start, does anyone know of any possible snags or pitfalls I might run into by trying to build an Evo X using a none Evo Lancer shell? If I'm not mistaken, the shell is pretty universal, but if anyone knows different, I'm all ears.
What would be so difficult about it? Should I expect to improvise some things? My idea is to use the Lancer more as a donor frame and just move all the bits from a totaled Evo. Any tips you or someone else would have that I wouldn't have to do homework for is much appreciated.its possible, but a lot of work, you can buy an evo shell instead, at least you will have lighter weight body...
like rear differentials or engine mounts it's all doable just need to be welded in a right area, I did a huge swap, but both were evo. one flooded the other side damage same year so same wiring harness everything was from a damaged evo and undamaged body from the flooded one. it was done but when I connect obd its reads donor cars vin# so it was a challenge with some computers when you change vin# it will not start and so on...all fixed and runs great but a lot of work invested... if the donor vehicle was not so severely damaged was thinking to fix that one instead of that huge swap...What would be so difficult about it?
