Hey everyone,

Quick question on how much tinting usually goes for. I called a place and they would do all windows, not including windshield for $299, any tint grade. I was thinking of doing 35% as that is the most you can go in IL. Is 35% really dark to see out of? Don't really have any friends with tint, so I can't really compare.

The place uses 3M, which I assume is the best?

Let me know as they won't give me this deal for long.

I paid $175 with a lifetime warranty. That sounds a little on the high side to me. I'd shop around a bit, whatever you do just don't go to some shady $hithole, you don't want to be looking at messed up tint the rest of the time you own your car

5 windows with 3m tint is going to run you around 200-250$ at most shops. If they warranty the tint job.. it could go into the 300's.

35% isn't very dark, but its dark enough that people can't see inside your car from far away (will be able to see you though). The usual tint percent is around 20%. As for your tint laws, I would look them up. You don't want to go extra dark because you are going to attract more cops (Driving an EVO..you already get enough of that).

If you want to look at tint percentages I would google image them. "35% tint, 20% tint.. etc.."

Good tint on the East coast ran $160-200. In the desert, $250-300 most places because you can't go without it so they can charge more and still get plenty of business. Either place, lifetime warranty.

I run 40% tint all around (nothing on windshield), and, paid $180 which included felt strips on the inside of the window edge. Lifetime guarantee. The 40% is light enough, that cops dont look at it during the day, at night it looks alot darker.

I just got a quote of 300 for 3m in a reputable shop, I also got a quote of $200 using no name tint from a guy working out of a parking garage.

Exactly right. My 3m was 250 with warranty.
