Hey guys,

As the title says i've been having some idle issues and hesitation with the car to the point where it almost bogs and stalls. If i'm on the gas and i go to shift the car into neutral as i'm coming to a stop the rpm's will dip below 1k and as if theres a spring under it will shoot up to around 2.5k and then back under 1k. Now at the stop light the car will jump between 1k and 800 rpm. First thing i did was check the fuel pressure regulator hose that many people have and that wasn't it. I looked at pictures that other people have posted and i'm 99.9% sure that is not the issue.

Mods wise I have:

Cobb AP with 1.08 Stage 2 w/ HKS Filter
HKS Filter
Turbo XS CBE
AMS High Flow Cat

No codes are being thrown and i'm a little worried as to what the issue may be since its not that hose. I do have a cobb and i can get some logs but i'm not exactly sure what all logs i should have that will help. Searching hasn't really come with anything that i don't know. So if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great.

Thanks

JD

Logs

Here are my two logs, one is my stock one and one is the stage 2. It looks like the stage 2 map has the idle issue and the knock is really bad all of a sudden. I'm going to keep logging in the stock map and see what i come up with. Any reason why this is what it is?

No hill, just did it anytime I would come to a stop. I hope we get some more peeps to chime in. For now I'm switching to the stock tune.

I think its fine man its not the tune... Its probably fuel starvation of some sort, how much gas was in the tank?

did you check the fuel pump relay? since its a '10 you should be ok but I would double check.

my 08 gsr does the same thing though. at a stop it fluctuates a couple hundred rpms. its so much worse when the AC is on though. feels like its gunna stall out every time i go.

Hmmm, it could be bcuz of the tune.. but have you check your air filter is it dirty or clean the MAF??? Bad fuel maybe... fuel filter maybe...

It was doing it pretty bad when i had minimal fuel in it. I filled it up a day ago and put at least 20 miles so that should have got it back into the system. I changed to the new blue relays even though i have a '10 just to be safe. I only got 5000 miles on the car so would you still reccomend cleaning all the stuff still? I'm going to try out the car again tonight and see if i can notice anything on the stock tune and i'll report back.

Im going with either a bad tank of gas or possible the tune isn't agreeing with your setup. You got a steady 1 count of knock almost 2 counts between 4k-5k. I'd def go back to the stock map, and have someone look @ your setup and get a proper map for your car, or have someone actually tune it.

pull plugs and check condition. I was looking at an old spark plug thread the other day and hollywood saw an idle issue when the ceramic insulator broke. I'm getting ready to buy some plugs myself to see if it'll help with some low end performance issues (that and they're overdue for replacement)

Mine still blips from time to time, but I honestly don't think it's an issue, but then again, I'm a complete noob in this world, so you may want to take what I say with a grain of salt.

Fuel was still at one tick, and there have been times i've accidently run at no ticks and been ok after a fill up. Weird thing is i've had this tune for the last coulple thousand miles with the same setup with no issues. when doing loggs i've seen highest of .7 or .35 and from what other people have said is not high enough to be a problem. I'm going to check the coils this weekend i can get to some tools. I'll keep logging and hopefully it was just some bad gas. We shall see, thanks for all the help so far.

Wow just did a good look at the stock map and ya its in the 1.41-1.76 @4000rpm range that whole time during a pretty basic pull. Not good :(

Ended up checking all the vacume lines that i could see and checked all the spark plugs and eveything looks good to go. I took some more logs with the stock map, i'll have them up in a bit.

New Logs

Logging with the stock map is looking much better. Just a couple spots in the pull was it 0.35 or 0.70. Hopefully whatever it is works its self out and if things keep getting worse i'll just take it in.
