I was waiting for my wife to finish shopping the other day so I was reading a D-Sport article on the Evo X and they added a K&N drop in filter, a 3" design craft exhaust, and royal purple motor oil 5W-30 to yield 36 awhp. What I found curious with the filter and exhaust it brought the dyno from 293 awhp to 300 awhp. So 7 awhp from royal purple might be worth me changing my oil sooner. I was planning to use royal purple anyways since that is what I run in my Ion Redline. Anybody have any experience with royal purple and the X?

Ok, cool. I'm sticking with the fully synthetic Mobil 1. The sticker that says to only use that oil on the engine is pretty much all the dealer needs to stick me in the face when something goes wrong and they find different oil in there. 7whp, if true, is a lot from a different oil.

That could simply be due to variations from run to run. I don't buy that oil makes any difference in horsepower.

That said, I really like that exhaust and wish DCF had some sort of a viable website with pricing and pictures.

^^^ I was hoping the same thing. I searched and only found a website that was under construction. I wish I knew the part number for the K&N drop infilter too. I searched there website to no avail. I am going to give them a call tomorrow.

i read that mag. too at walmart Royal purple blue added 7hp and dyno to prove.

I never changed my oil before and never paid attention does anyone knows how much the dealer charge for oil change for X if you take your oil and filter with you.



Does anyone know part no. for K & N filter and where can you buy it

I brought my own oil and the oil filter( I recommend the OEM one anyways) and they charged me $10.50.
