Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone else out there has run into this issue or has found a solution. At WOT in S-sport mode my SST refuses to shift. The revs just hang and it will slowly push itself into gear. In some instances rev's will actually go up.
In Sport mode this will not happen. Car shifts fine at whatever load I throw at it.
My theory behind it is, ignition advance. In Sport the ECU retards ignition advance to whatever timing I have set in the lower bound timing table. In
S-Sport the ECU does not retard ignition advance at all. It keeps whatever timing I have set in the high octane map. In sport mode the closer I bring the lower bound table to match the high octane table the shifting issues will begin to start. Has anyone found someway to control fueling and ignition advance during shift in S-Sport mode? I would be grateful for any suggestions, help or work around's anyone has found. This is driving me nuts.

My buddy just got done with his E85 conversion, pushing 430whp. Says it hangs way more than it used to, just like you're describing. He just says, "let off the throttle for a split second, then get back on it hard" and I guess that works. Not sure if that's what is supposed to happen but hey.

Must be some way to disable that...

Yeah, I have worked with SSP on the issue. We have not been able to figure out why this occurs. I'm almost 100% positive it's timing related considering I can reproduce the issue in Sport just by advancing timing in the lower bound table.
There has to some table that controls what timing the SST uses in different modes. I just don't have access to it. SSP has been kind enough to share everything they have table wise for tuning on the SST. They are great guys who have been wonderful in my battle with my SST, I was just hoping some of the other Guru's such as Razorlab or Tephra would chime in with some advice or a possible fix they may have found. Or if they have also maybe experienced this. Letting of the throttle is no fun. It's an MR the whole benefit of the trans is fast flat foot shifting. For now I'm stuck with Sport mode. It's totally aggravating.
I can max out the stock load table in sport and the car shifts great. But I want the added line pressure of S-Sport mode for that nice flat TQ line. Not to mention the Rev matching in S-sport is outstanding.

I have some ideas... PM sent sir.
My general findings on the SST have been, going too big with tables lands you in hot water. KISS + baby steps = win :)

So i have something to report on this. Weather was a bit cooler down here last night and as such my Load probably up a tiny bit.
SuperSport shifts were a bit sluggish, where they were super crisp before.
Normal and Sport mode, revs just hang when you try to upshift at WOT. They were fine before.

So it looks like i just hit some sort of critical mass aswell.
Didn't have my laptop with me to try some things, but I'll do so tonight. It sounds like going back to stock and incrementally changing things will be the go.
I will discuss this with some clever people and throw some ideas around (which they may have already tried) :)

God Damn SST. What's the lowest you have set your Lower Bound map to? I can get sport to shift fast and crisp .4 10th's of a second to be exact under high load. I still believe it has everything to do with timing. The more advanced during shift the more sluggish shifting becomes, just like S-Sport under high load. This weekend I will have some extra time for my own car for a change and do some further testing. Keep me updated Wade.

Hrmmmm
my lower bound is 7-8 up top, my timing is 11 on the current map.
and my lower bound is at 0-1-2 in the midrange.

I'll do some more testing too, including putting everything SST related back to stock.

lol and Wade's my surname ;)
i haven't been called that since high school haha

Interesting.
I've never let it go that low, as retarded timing = bigger boost spike with upshift. Not that I've ever logged it, but that was my understanding.
But I'll try it out and report back.

With my Red i was hitting 280-290 Load and never had an issue.
So reducing Load artificially may well net results - but at the cost of decreased clamping pressure. Swings and roundabouts...

One day out of pure frustration I decided what the hell let's see what happens. Dropped it down and was astonished by the result. So I tried from -4 all the up to 12-13 (14-15 high octane map up top on E85) The other huge difference on upshifts between modes is fuel. In Normal and Sport it pegs my wideband 10:1
In Super Sport it keeps fueling constant. Boost does spike a bit from the retarded ignition advance but never more than my peak boost was to begin with. Around 27 PSI. The added fuel keeps things in order. If we could unlock these things the SST could become very amazing.
