Hi All
Only just got my 330 SST last week so have been 'playing' with the gearbox etc.

When I go from normal and push the knob forward it changes to 'sport' on the dash but one more push forward ( into super sport ) and the dash still says 'Sport' not 'Super Sport'!!!

Is this normal & what is to be expected or should it say 'Super Sport'?
Tried changing on my drive whilst stationary & in slowish moving traffic but not out on the open road.

Surely you should be able to choose all 3 modes at random and when you feel like it or am I missing / doing something wrong?

Should I be worried I'm not in Super Sport / or maybe I am!

Thanks
Mark

i'm pretty sure the car has to be stopped with the transmission in park or neutral, and then you have to hold the button forward for 3 seconds to get it into super-sport.

I don't have the SST, but this is from my memory when reading about it several years ago. I'm 100% certain the car has to be stopped though, and you have to hold it forward for 3seconds.

Same thing with the stability control, you have to hold the "ASC OFF" button for 3 seconds to turn it to the most off setting possible.

Trans doesn't need to be in neutral or park, you can put it in ss mode with the shifter in any location.

I dont know the exact limit but you can be moving and still put it in ss mode but the cut off is really slow... like 10 km/h and faster it won't work.

I have a SST you must be at a complete stop or very very slow .. it will change even if in D but do it properly just press the brake(to stop car) and then press the SST switch once up to sport the press and hold up(couple of seconds 3-6secs) till you see it change to "S-Sport" in the dash... its in the owners manual..

correct ^above^... you dont need to be completely stopped. in sport mode hold up for 3 secs. as for the "asc off" 1 push turns off traction control and 1 long (3 sec) push turns off traction control and yaw control. you dont need to turn off yaw for launching/racing.

Holding ASC off-off (3 second button push) does not turn off yaw control.

If you can shift to SSport while moving...your killing your tranny(that's why you can't). Be careful when shifting from Normal to Sport too. Lift your gas a little because let's say Normal mode 5th gear 60mph to Sport will drop to 3rd gear.

I always have it in "manual" mode so changing from normal to sport doesnt change gears but in "auto" mode it will downshift when you switch to sport.

no it eliminates fuel cut and traction control about 75%, but you can do this at any speed too, you don't need to be stationary.

sorry, let me rephrase.. yaw control can not be fully turned off, however some/many consider this "off-off" function shutting off yaw because yaw is produced by the rear diff and the breaking system. by shutting off the all breaking function, hence leads to no/less yaw being produced. also sorry to be off topic of ssport mode.

How do you figure? It only changes the shift tables/clutch pressures AFAIK.

I still don't get what's bad about that? Doesn't it automatically rev-match downshift? So why wouldn't it do it for switching to sport from normal?
