Hey gents, I am having a problem with my 08 Evo X. When I give it full throttle, my car stutters and does not give full power. Also my A/F is at 14 or so while it is stuttering. I just changed my spark plugs and that helped a little. Thought it was the tune but went back to a tune that I had no problems with and nothing changed. The car has 35k miles on it and I have not done the 30k maintenance on it. I am not sure if that would really cause it. My friend and I think it may be something with the fuel system(i.e> injectors, fuel rail or filter) since I go so lean when I give it full throttle but we are just guessing. What do you guys think it could be?

Cliffs:
Car stutters at full throttle
changed spark plugs and its not the tune
need to do 30K maint(car has 35K miles)
think it may be injectors, fuel rail or maybe fuel filter but thats just a guess.

What could it be?

I've been having the exact same problem since i bought the car brand new and unmodified. Occasionally at full throttle and high rpm it stutters/hesitates. I would definitely like to know what the deal is before i mod the car so the dealer won't blame it on aftermarket parts....

check your FPR hose hasnt come off!!

Also it could be a MAF sensor on its way out!!

get a code reader on it.

If you search for "Stuttering, hesitation, cut out, high rpm power loss, etc" it's just before people post "Blown motor" because the fuel relay went out or the hose came off your FPR.
i'm with this guy.

I'm going to be replacing mine regularly and dissecting the old ones until i feel comfortable with how long the contacts are lasting.

Mike from RR put a fantastic thread together with great pics showing the damage that occurs over time to the relays

When I searched and didn't find this or did't see it. I zip tied the FPR hose a while back so that wasnt the problem. I took the relay out and shook it and its bad so i ordered 3 of them. Thanks man.

fuel pressure regulator?
It's an extremely common thing for the FPR hose to pop off. There should be a sticky somewhere about it. Just do a search.
