OK-

So last tax return I spoiled the evo with a FMIC and a retune, this time around im lost as to "whats missing" for my car. I need your help here guys, help me spend my money lol.

I know I need some suspension! but on the other hand a big turbo sounds like a good idea? maybe some cams?

I got about 3K to spend im gonna sit back and let the merchancts post up some tax season sales but anything you guys gotta say ill consider. im open to some suggestions!

You go road racing? If so, i would consider the girodisc stage 2 package (2pc rotors, pads, SS lines).

yah depends on how much track time youll see. Turbo and cams are FUN no matter what youre doing with the car. Suspension will make the car shine on the track, but just make for a more uncomfortable DD. The only real compromise would be a high end suspension like Ohlins DFV, JRZ, or AST

if you DD it, dont bother with cams unless you have SST. Clutch work becomes 90% of driving if you have cams and it could ruin the fun of DD life for you. Even with the SST the idle is a bit stupid and it stalled twice, took me about a second or two after giving throttle it started going again.

Get yourself ID1000cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, an ef2 or ef3 get a tune and call it (and yes, get the FMIC for sure)

I disagree, my suspension makes my car much more attuned DD. It is not uncomfortable at all with 12/10kg springs and Hotchkis bars. Turbo and cams are more fun, but if you do it up front then decide to race then you have points, classing, and penalties to contend with... I ended up in BSP before I knew it and I don't race on race tires, everyone else does... Just something to think about. It is important to realize your ACTUAL goals for the car. I set out thinking big power, etc. Then thankfully before I got there I realized there was enough already and the suspension was the lacking component, along with the driver mod. ;)

What coils do you have? Camber plates?

Having the "right" suspension setup will allow a better DD and track experience. Its one of the reasons why they say "never cheap out on suspension". I happen to agree....in addition to "never cheap out on engine builds".

Tein Mono Flex atm, ordering either Ohlin's or AST's soon. One of my front coils sprung a leak. :waiting:
I had Teins Flex's on my Suby and hated them for DD. Made a lot of clunking noise, bounce house ride, etc. Granted that was a long time ago and they werent the newer monoflex. TO each his own. I definitely agree about the sway bars, A must have (rear at least).

I have never had a really high end set of coils, so I dont know if DD would actually be more comfortable than a good set of springs. BUt I do know that cheap(er) coils are terrible for DD.

So the moral of the story is get a high end set, or stick with a good set of springs and maybe a re-valve

I have had no issues at all out of them and I have been on them ~18k miles, other than the minor leak of course. I wouldn't buy them again, to many good coils available now for the same price that wasn't available when I got them.
