... Isn't on the market yet. The 2011 and 2012 Evos have been left out in the cold so far, mainly in part because Tephra is only one guy and can only do so much. Not to mention the rewards are very little.

If we want V2 so badly, we need to voice it and pull out some green.

I'd like this thread to be about two things:

First I'd like to start a list of pledges to Tephra for coming out with the next version. There is a lot of work that goes into this software, and Tephra seems to always get the short end of the stick. If you use tephramods, like the idea, or just want to see development continue on the Evo platform, get out your freaking wallet. I'll start:

Pledges
-------------------------------------
1) migs647 : $150
2) HappyMint : $50

Second, lets assume that Tephra isn't available at all to continue development, or some day gets hit by a bus. I'd like to start calling on all software engineers, electrical engineers, hobbyist programmers, ecu gurus, etc to start looking into possibly extending TephraMods. I'll start:

Developers
-------------------------------------
1) migs647 : software engineer
2) HappyMint : software engineer
3) jyamona : software engineer

Please keep all negative comments out of this thread. This thread is merely to illustrate to Tephra and company that there is a huge demand and that we are still interested as a group.

(this thread is also on evom, I'll try and keep them up to date and in sync)

I 100% want this (although I have tephra mod on my 2010 x). It's AMAZING. Even though I have a 2010, I'd be willing to help out (I'm also a software engineer) however I can.

I also pledge 50.00

If tephra is working on it .... great. But his contract is still 6 months out AFTER cobb gets it.

I still want to keep a list of people donating and a list of people that want to help do this kind of work if tephra ever disappears.

Well that's great news.

Regardless, there has been talk over the years of him not getting enough support from the community. I still think it's vital we show our support to him. More so than before, because he wasn't getting hooked up like he should have been.

i just sent him $30 for "beer money" last week to help get him rolling :)
yes he is busy. the community support that has been discouraging has been more from the tuner front; no not the guys we all know that help him develop but many others that take without giving back.

don't be surprised at all to see v2 vin locked. i hate to see it come to this but being a software engineer myself i understand. also with that note; i have coded in assembly through c# for the past 10 years and lots of languages in between; it takes a special kind of developer to do what T and others have done. "You can't just climb into the ring with Ali because you think you box."

I love to see the "normal guys" rallying around his work i am am sure he appreciates it. keep the support going! don't shoot him a 5 page essay but a short email thanking him will not go unnoticed; even if you don't get a immediate response.

So true. I am pretty hardcore programmer, but even I cannot do what these guys do. I'm just not proficient in the right combination of skills needed for decoding ECUs. It seems you need a lot of Electrical/electronics background along with assembly level decoding. Its about as close as you can get to the heart of computing. Finding tables is one thing, but adding a routine to an existing ECU binary is a whole different animal.

But this weekend I will be finishing off the 2011/2012 ROM's for Cobb, SO I think if I can have a couple of people test them that will help :)
