I'm going to have to agree with the sun visors and blind spots. The side mirrors also seem to fog up/ get dirty alot easier then on my last car. I find them hard to see out of sometimes.
Anyway, as to the blind spot, it is HORRIBLE in this car, but is not a problem if you allign your mirrors properly. The point of the side mirrors is to see to the sides, not behind you. I now have the mirrors pointed way farther out from how I use to allign my mirrors. I used to allign it so I would barely see down the side of the car; but the problem with this is then your side mirrors are showing you the same thing that your rear-view mirrors are.
Anyway, trust me that you should all do this, and while it is extremely hard to get used to and to learn to trust, it will pretty much eliminate your blind spot which will prevent you from causing an accident:
Here is the goal: you want the side mirrors to show the gap between where you can see a vehicle to your back left/right in the rear-view mirror and to when you can see them peripherally out the corner of your eye when you look at your left/right side mirror. A simple way to adjust this would be to pull up next to a parked car in a parking lot so you are about 5ft or so to their left/right, simulating being next to a car on a multi-lane road.
Now pull forward untill you see the rear end of that car in your rear-view mirror. Make sure you sit how you normally do while driving! now, if you are at all like me and aim your side mirrors down the side of your car, then you will clearly see the car in your side view mirror at this point. However, at this point all you really need to see is the front end of that car. so adjust your mirror "outward" untill you pretty much only see the front end of that car.
Now back up, and as you back up (simulating that car passing you) you should be able to clearly see that car in your side-mirror. Then as soon as the car starts to "leave" sight in the side mirror, you should start to see the front end with your peripheral vision. You'll probably have to adjust the mirrors even farther outward to achieve this.
But basically, the point is that now there is no blind spot, or as minimal as possible. The hard part is that when you are first driving with the mirrors aimed far out like this when you look in them you have no "point of reference" to know where exactly they are aimed. However, if you don't re-adjust them and continue to use them aimed like this, eventually you will realize that you don't have a blind spot and that if you see a car in that mirror then that car is next to you!
But anyway, this gets rid of blind spots and is the safest way to allign your mirrors. If you get used to it you will love it. But as mentioned the blind spot in this car is horrendous if you aim the mirrors down along the side of the car. But there really is not point to aiming them along the side of the car cause all it shows you is what your rear-view mirror shows you.
Sorry if that was wordy
