Anyone else excited for this guilty pleasure? The new season starts on Tuesday. The presenters were shaky at the first half of the first season, but seemed to gel at the end. There's actually some chemistry there! Tanner still has no sense of timing and cant seem to use inflection, but its not bad.

Content-wise, the first season was the other way around. I liked the first half, and thought it went down hill. Lets hope the realize that and kept the content level higher this season.

So yea, anyone else going to watch?

I'll probably watch it. I still like the BBC version far better, but I want to check out some more of this one. Only saw two episodes of the first season.
I always liked the USA version, I think the whole crew is hilarious, especially with some of the races they do. The moonshine run last season was awesome.
I wish they got rid of rutledge and adam... Tanner is the only reason I even watch it.
Oh God...why?! We might as well watch these guys review cars...

WTF, would you make a remake of this garbage?

I disagree...get rid of Fatledge and Tanner...Adam was the only real talent there (when it comes to being a host). None of the original Top Gear crew was worth a shit driving so Tanner really should have just stuck with being the Stig.

werd being a good driver doesn't make you a good host, but look at James May. Certainly not the fastest, but the man makes me laugh just as often as the other two.

not saying tanner is or isn't, because like I said I haven't personally seen it often.
I think rutlege is hilarious with his humor. You guys take things too cereal. Remember, this has to be attractive to all audiences, so us who actually know more about cars than the average audience is going to be a little bias.

You are right, it must be attractive to all audiences...I found the perfect candidate for the typical Fatledge fan...

not many audiences watch the History Channel...

Dude everyone I know watches the history channel!! I do think this show would do better on velocity with West Coast Customs, Chasing Classic Cars and Wheeler Dealers. All of which, are teh shit.
reminder, this will be on in alike 9 mins :)

Velocity isn't as much a mainstream channel though. You usually have to have a premium cable package to get it (if its even offered by your carrier), where History comes with the standard package pretty much everywhere.

TBH, I think Tanner's the worst host. Kinda comes of as a cry baby and doesn't really relate to the average 'car guy', let alone the average viewer. He's the Hammond of the group, to draw a crap comparison to the UK lineup. But he's also the most insightful when it comes to reviewing sports cars, like Clarkson, just without the style and way with words.

Adam is the 'i dont care about cars, but i can act so I'm on a car show' guy that has no reason to be on a car show other than to supply the down-to-earth realistic view of things. I guess he'd be like the James May, but less insightful about finish beyond whats on the surface, and more colorful. But he's also the charisma guy with good comedic timing and is quickest with a good joke, so he covers a bit of what Clarkson brings.

Rutledge imo is the best fit for the show. He's been a TV host on SPEED, and he's a real car nut. If he wasn't on TV, he'd be on forums like this just like all of us. You can tell he really loves this shit and is just trying to have a good time. Being he's the only one to bring any automotive journalistic credit to the show, he's the most Clarksonesque in his role, but with a delivery that can't be more un-Clarksonesque. He is the Anticlarkson

Lets face it... Clarkson makes Top Gear UK what it is. Take him out and put ANYONE else in with the other 2, and it's a totally different show. That's why Top Gear USA/AU/China/etc wont ever compare to Top Gear UK. Its a lot like the Evo X vs 335i argument. It's comparing things that compete at the same level, but check all the different boxes

Man I cant wait I love top gear and most other car shows:)
I loved it :) Kinda pointless as far as cars go with just bigrigs, but it was funny and entertaining. The biggest thing that bugged me was the preview of the next episode, which came RIGHT AFTER A BROUGHT TO YOU BY FORD MESSAGE, they started by saying something like "If you new awesome Mustang, what you want to see it pitted against?". Of course everyone would say "FUCKING CAMERO! YESH!".... but no, instead of actually critiquing a sponsor's product, they're putting it against.... a mustang. No, not a Mustang the car, a fucking dude riding a horse.

This is my biggest fear. The show turns into every other US car show and is afraid to offend anyone and just panders to sponsors. Im jumping the gun, but I'd rather bitch now before it gets out of hand ;)

Oh, and good Rut interview

that was the single worst episode of top gear Ive ever seen. I stopped watching it about 2/3 of the way.
Also just reinforces my comment made about rut and adam earlier when they decided to smash Tanners phone for no reason.
what a bunch of sore losers...
i take it you absolutely hate the UK show then? they're almost all pretty much an episode of a big stupid skit with the hosts being dicks to eachother
I can live with the UK show because I dont understand half the shit they say and every show they have a car that is at least "sporty" and will probably never find its way to the US.
they dont have sporty cars in every show. and say what you will, but that peterbuilt was badass ;)
This was awful, they should be ashamed to call it TopGear. First of all they basically stole the episode the UK version did with the trucks or "lorries" second no car tests..really?

I think my problem is they call it topgear, so we're all expecting it to be like topgear... and it's not.
