So im planning on having my tranny rebuilt, thinking about going this route http://sheptrans.com/transmissions/evo_x.htm
Has anyone on here gone through shep and if so how have you liked the tranny since then?
Or if anyone else has any other company that they've gone to for the rebuild your input would be appreciated as well as to who you went with and how you like or do not like it.
You will be in good shape with Shep or Jacks. They are both well known and respected in the Evo Community. There have been many successful upgrades by both shops.
yea ive heard shep and jacks are the only two companies to even consider, im just trying to read some peoples testimonials as to how long it took, how the tranny has been holding up after being rebuilt and if they really noticed a difference considering it isnt cheap haha.
How long has it been since your tranny was rebuilt? Everything feels fine? Do you race your car a lot? (at the track of
Course) If so how's it been holding up?
I went to shep and couldnt be happier!! Great customer service, easy to contact them, and really good prices. Mitsu charged me $1000 in labor for just a clutch install, and shep charged me next to nothing for a clutch install, rebuilt transmission, T-case, and front diff.. Not to mention my transmission shifts like butter even when it is cold out! but ive heard great results about jacks also! Like everyone said cant go wrong with either! It helps that shep is only about an hour drive from me
I am considering Jacks or Shep, although Jack's is closer to me. I guess what is disappointing that it does not appear that they fortify any of the gearing.
