Transmission center diff upgrade; Rebuild

My build thread has generated some questions on tranny build pricing and turn around time. So I figure instead of answering all the questions and PM's I'd just do it here.

So if you have been modding cars in the past few years you have heard the name Jack's Transmissions once or twice. These guys know their shit and have a lot of built running gear out and about. When I did the research to see what I needed to do to ensure my transmission would withstand 650+whp I only had 2 real options. No I chose Jack over Shep because they actually address and fix the oiling issue that kills the center diff pins. They also put forward the effort to time the syncro's and align for better shifts.

Snice having mine upgraded it just feels so much more fluid and easy to drive. Not angry like the stock set up always grinding and getting locked out.

Now I was talking with Jack earlier today and giving him some feedback on the set up and he said he would be willing to knock $100 off for the forum members here. Now that's just extra sweetness because his service is already hundreds less than Shep for more.

Now the normal price is $1199.99 so knock the $100 forum discount off tha and that's a pretty inexpensive way to save your tranny and improve the driving ability.
Now for those interested just PM me and I'll send you the link to what all his rebuild covers among other items. There are also core and shipping options for those who can't wait and need to have one ready to go!

OMG its copper colored... must be fast.

I must be weird I still have the stock tranny, diffs, and clutch at 47k miles. Dunno...
might be a better option for me, must contact jack for more info

There hasn't been any rhyme or reason for who's center diff fails, they just do and cost a much more to replace than fix. I did mine for piece of mind more than anything and now I have a tranny that is smooth as well as a bit more beefed up.

I think for most people if they have a few miles on the car and are doing a clutch upgrade this would be a good one to do at the same time. Just do the core swap and pop a fresh tranny in with the new clutch and be done.
That's a great price indeed......especially if it includes the fix to get rid of the stupid notchy shifting/grinding to a great extent.

BTW, those welds are just.......GHETTO. I'm sure they work like a charm, but damn do they look ugly. Although anyone factoring the looks into their purchasing decision would be a moron.
Im really interested in getting my tranny built, my damn reverse its freaking hard to get it in. Maybe all the damage from the previous clutch and installation. Rite now im looking for a spare tranny so i dont have to wait. Thanks for the review, i was planning on sending to shep but you have good experience with Jack and you said customer service was good which is a big plus.
As always you bring all the good info... Nice color by the way :)

Vegeta busca ofisio! I installed my Clutch with HW instructions and everything went well :) So far no issues at all :p
Nice this is something I am looking to do before next season.

If you just pay deposit on the core they will send you a tranny then refund you the deposit when you send the old one back. No waiting at all :yay:

give them a call you lazy :p

but anyways maybe around 1500
$1500 for the deposit that will be refunded when your tranny shows up
We do the oil scoop mod and a similar diff pin mod on our transmissions as well, and I can tell you it works. Even if you upgrade the diff pins, you need to do the mod to the pins. Simply putting tighter fitting upgraded pins in the diff does not fix it. Nice write up Hollywood. Jacks does great work.

The painted transmission looks pretty sweet as well.

Only if he doesn't get lost and end up at PTuning again. :duh:
